J&M Restaurant and Bar

Haven't been to J&M in years and my wife and I decided to give it a go. We went on a Wednesday at 5:30. Our total time at the restaurant was just shy of two hours. We were seated immediately as they were not busy. I don't know if our waitress was new or easily distracted, but the wait times between her coming to the table were excessive. I ordered a shrimp cocktail (was dry like the shrimp had been sitting out) soup ( Luke warm) and fried clams (wasn't to bad, good portion) my wife got a cheeseburger and fries (no complaints) . At the end of our meal, we moved all our plates to the edge of the table, put on our coats and waited another 15 mins for the waitress to come with our check ( my wife had to get her attention). If that's the wait time on an off night, would hate to see if it was busy.

Lived in Wolcott. For the past two years. Was here faithfully, at least once a week, some weeks even more. Tonight our waitress decided to “Confront” me for complaining or sending back food the last two visit. Last visit, sent back shrimp that you couldn’t peel. This visit was brought out the wrong shrimp that was ordered. Immediately got a nasty face and attitude. Ordered a surf and Turf steak was super thin and chewy. ALWAYS order medium or medium rare. Sent back the shrimp upon arrival with the new shrimp she decides to confront me inquiring if I’m doing this on purpose and they can never please me. I asked for examples and she could not provide any. In fact I reminded her of my last visit and the shrimp that was over cooked and could not be peeled. Nonetheless, very unprofessional very rude. Very disappointing! There’s been many times I should have complained about food and service but did not sue to trying to support this local business and close to home. After tonight I will drive the extra mile or two for a place that respects and appreciates loyal and frequently visiting customers. Sorry I’m a steak and seafood guy and appreciate a good meal the right way after a long day of work!!

Not terrible, not great. Pasta sauce was not for me. Meatballs didn’t taste fresh or overcooked. Couldn’t tell. Garden Salad was very fresh and enjoyed that!

Went here for a surprise birthday party, the food was really good- sausage/peppers, chicken, pasta, salad, steamed veggies, roasted potatoes and meatballs. The meatballs were really, really good! Flavorful sauce and seasoned well. Everyone seemed happy with their food. The bartenders need more experience, on a positive note they were friendly and accommodating.

Had a delicious meal at J&M restaurant. The waitress was very nice, friendly, professional and attentive. I will definitely be going back! Had eggplant rollantini - excellent!
