FixIt Ace Hardware - Chastain

Purchased a Sthil curved edger attachment from FixIt Ace Hardware. The employees were ready to assist us in finding the attachment. Once they retrieved it for us, they made sure that we had manual and the rest of the needed tools. We were in and out pretty quickly with great service.

I visited this location on behalf of a PR firm to capture content for an upcoming campaign. As I entered the store I passed by a male employee who saw me and did not greet me, yet somehow he found me all the way in the back of the store to ask me if he could help me. A female employee on the other side of the store did greet me. I passed by atleast 4 additional employees, atleast one a manager, I was never acknowledged. I don’t shop at Ace, in fact this was my 1st and likely my last visit. I just didn’t feel welcomed.

Really frustrating experience with a coupon they sent me: spend $100 save $20 or spend $75 and save 10. My cart comes up at $120 and I try to use the coupon. Neither will work. The cashier says it because of some charcoal in my cart but can’t tell me why. So I cancelled everything except $8 of potting mix and walked out to car and ordered everything else (grill related), and found that Amazon is actually cheaper overall…especially without the coupon. I try to support my local businesses, because I’m a small business owner myself, but this was a terrible experience. The cashier was so indifferent. She didn’t say sorry or try to explain or anything. She didn’t care whether I did my business with Ace, so I guess I don’t either. Management, you should really hire and train better. This was 3/31/23 at 9:27 am.

Super polite, almost familial in their kindness. Felt like they'd known me my whole life. Only Ace in my area, in fact only STORE in my area that sells the kind of Christmas lighting I specifically need. This location could train many other retail establishments on how to treat customers. You may be too young to remember a time when you walked into a store and everyone treated you like a good friend. This Ace Hardware is that store. Love them and will always be coming back!

I wish I could give NO stars review! Contractors, tradesmen and builders beware. No friendly to our kind and way way way over price. The C.C. I was using would not chip so i asked if i could swype and NO. I ask can you manual put in and NO. The guy in the picture i included was so rude, i will never be back.
