Thieves with bad advice. Came here at 2PM on a Saturday. Asked front cashier for anyone knowlegeable about Central AC. She directed me to someone at aisle 9.
Told the person I was directed to I needed a multimeter to test for bad capacitor on central AC. She directed me to the multimeter aisle. Was unhelpful in recommending a particular multimeter, told her I would buy the most expensive model assuming it has the most features.
Brought it home and realized the Ace-purchased multimeter cannot measure microfarads which is what I needed for the job. Brought back to Ace and was told "we cannot accept the product return in this condition" as the plastic packaging was torn because it is the only way to open.
Bad advice, frustration-inducing packaging and refusal to accept return of products purchased less than an hour prior. Avoid like the plague.
Edit after owner response: I just want you guys to abide by your own return policy and give me my money back, man. ACE web site states:

Nowhere does the return policy state "return must be returned unopened in original packaging". The multimeter itself was undamaged. Feel free to DM me if you want to make this right, I will update this review if a refund is offered.
Everything here is sincerely overpriced. And the orca goth check-out person couldn't care less about her job. She did not greet me when I entered, couldn't help me when I needed to find something, and wouldn't get off her phone to check me out when I was trying to pay. No eye contact, no acknowledgement, nothing. It was like I was interrupting her day just being there.
Very kind people. I walked in and they asked me what I needed. I told them what I was looking for, they told me where it was, and I was out of there with no hassle. Great place.
What a Great Ace Hardware this has become since Mark, the owner has taken it over and I have lived in the neighbor over 45 years now. Phillip is Mark's General Manager and is an excellent Manager. Briefly, I want to share a recent very positive experience I had at this Ace, especially high lighting two valuable associates, Ann and Kim
I had an absolutely crazy project last week attempting to strengthen some legs on three bar stools that my wife wanted to reupholster for our daughter and our two soon to be 6 year old Twin Grandsons who live in Northern Virginia.
When I got to the store earlier last week, Ann immediately heard about my issues with the chairs. By trial and error, it took several times back and forth to the store to solve the issues but all three of the bar stools are now very stable for two soon to be six year old grandsons to sit at the Kitchen Bar having their Breakfast each morning. Ann was very patient as I came back to the store time after time. In the meantime, Kim was also extremely patient in sorting out all the returned items I had. The owner Mark of course helped me also during this process. Phillip the Manager was very patient with me as I took time with Ann and Kim It was truly a Team Effort.
I am absolutely sure in the future, I will be adding more positive reviews about this Ace. Many Thanks to this Neighborhood Ace Hardware.
