Ace Hardware Union Hills

First time to an ace store and I'm very impressed. Very well kept store with anything you'd need. I couldn't have asked for better service. Ray greeted me right when I came in and was very knowledgeable and polite. He helped find the exact items I had in mind very quickly.

The recent reviews of this location are inaccurate. Another location is the target for the negative reviews. I spoke to a manager during my visit to the store today, and he stated that the recent negative reviews were about an incident that didn't even happen at this location. The incident occurred at 19th Ave and Indian School. I had a great experience at this location. I found what I needed at a great price, and the staff was friendly. They keep the store clean and organized.

Ace Hardware, 19th Ave & Union Hills. I entered the store about 2pm on 11/26/22 Re: Rude associate, his name is Mike, older man, worked in plumbing aisle. I came in with the internal valve from an older outdoor spigot, circa 1999. His gruff answer boiled down to: 'There's nothing he can do there's nothing anybody can do, there's nobody in the entire state that makes a valve compatible for my outdoor spigot.' (About a year ago, a handyman that I knew, fixed the same type of spigot in the rear yard, so I know there are parts out there. The handyman showed me how to fix it, then he moved out of state) I questioned Mike about his answer, because I'm always suspicious of extremely general statements. Mike proceeded to raise his voice, dress me down, and in a very condescending tone, said: he's been "selling plumbing supplies for 30 years!". Then he turned his back on me and just walked away. I went in looking for a solution, not rudeness, and I gave him a parting comment of my own. When I was walking out, there was a young lady who works for Ace, and I mentioned to her that Mike was extremely rude to me. So, I went to Lowe's. There was a very helpful gentleman, he picked out a 1/2 inch spigot, & told me to take out the valve, it should be compatible with your older spigot. And guess what? He was right. The new valve fit on the older spigot. That's the kind of creative solution I look for when I walk into a hardware store. Don't you? **Update** I replaced the valve with the broken handle, with the new valve, from the new bibb that I bought. There's a pic of the original spigot that was soldered to the pipe in the year 2000 when the house was built. There's a pic of the new bibb next to the broken valve that I removed, and took to Ace, showed to Mike. There's a pic of the new valve that I put into the old spigot. The original spigot was manufactured by American valve company, and the new spigot was manufactured by American valve.

Worst customer service ever. I’m telling my husband to contract with someone else after seeing the video, this place watched a young lady walk into this store and profiled her for no reason he said “ you can’t browse here “ and kept badgering her. After being told no he then threatened with calling the security. I was informed that it was one white male and two white females and one minority who made this happen( also you can see them in the video)To be a white women I’m so saddened by this disgusting behavior.I’ll make sure to post this to tiktok and every platform. how do you shop if you can’t browse for things ? This is deplorable behavior. I’m calling corporate to report this as soon as possible

Abhorrent behavior, would love to see the written policy that you are not allowed to "browse" (shop lmao) in the store. I don't see a need for this location to even remain open. Enough is enough. Get a job where policy is made by someone with a brain, you weren't cut out to be in charge.
