Ace Handyman Services Butler Central

I want to share my experience with ace handyman service start to finish. I called about having a new newel post, balusters and handrail installed in my home. I spoke to the service manager which was pleasant and explained the pieces I had and what I was looking for. At this point I double confirmed that the ace handyman service would cover a carpentry job at this level. I was assured that it was multiple times by the manager. First guy came out and was super polite, but clearly but off more than he could chew or his skills were matched with. He damaged part of my wall that I just had repaired and painted by a professional painting service. Now this was just the beginning. He stated he would be back to finish (obviously fix a few things too). Second day I called and stated I was unhappy so the manager sent another service man to help out. He came out and stated he was ready to go at 2PM. Well he looked and said “I can’t start this today I would be here until 7-8pm”. Ok not my problem in all honesty, but I was understanding and asked if he could return AND finish the job the next day. The second service man came and finished the job in a little over 4 hours (which I was quoted 2hours and I KNEW it wouldn’t of taken 2 hours for what I was asking) but he finished. It’s a 75% complete job in all honesty I will have to have a professional carpenter come and clean things up. I give this a 3/5 only because they did work with my on the bill and damages the first service man caused, but if it wasn’t a small task like cleaning gutters, fixing some light light plumbing, or something very small I would never use them again.

Jeff was an EXCELLENT handyman! His work was perfection. He was very professional, cleanly, and polite. I didn't give a 5 star rating simply because I think the price ACE charges is a little steep. If I wasn't in a hurry I would have looked elsewhere.

Used AHS for a toilet repair. The technician was on time, brought a repair kit with him and completed the repair efficiently. We were pleased with the service and are considering having them do a few other small projects at our house.

By far, there is no more reliable, accurate and professional handyman service in this area. Ask for Andrew… he is so personable and honest, you won’t be disappointed. I’ve used them at home and business close to a dozen times and I will continue. I can only congratulate management for choosing their employees so well.

My preliminary review is not on the service itself, but the cost of the service relative to what you get. I initially contacted this company to help install a portion of fencing on my property, and was told that to have someone come out and look at it it would be a $70 charge and if I went with them, I would then get that credit against my bill. Ace told me that it may not be a project they are able to do, and I offered some additional work opportunities to which they scheduled. Why would I pay $70 to them if they can’t commit? It was agreed that at that scheduled service they would look and determine if there was ability to do the work. The craftsman arrived on time, did good work installing two sets of blinds, was respectful of my house. It took less than an hour, and that includes quickly looking at the fence area that I had initially contacted them about. I anticipated they would charge me at their hourly rate of +/- $110/hour despite being done early. I was shocked when they still charged me an additional $70 for a “service charge” despite being done early & paying for an hour of service. Do not recommend based on costs/charges alone.
