Visitation Academy of St. Louis

My cousin had a horrible experience here. She was unfairly expelled and given no support after such a traumatizing ordeal. There was no discussion or compassion on the side of the school administration. They claim to be a Catholic and Christian institution but if they really were, they would practice what they preach, which they absolutely do not. I would never consider sending any of my daughters here.

Visitation has gone over and beyond for my daughter! She’s been there since the toddler Montessori program and is now in 3rd grade. The teachers communicate with you and they want your daughter to succeed! The other day we went to morning mass before school and I was so touched that a young woman, that was obviously on high school, walked up to my daughter and knew her by name. Come for a visit and see just how wonderful Visitation Academy could be for your child!

Love this school.  They really care about the students.  Every school is not for everyone.  Academics are important and Viz strives to have girls be well rounded.  Faculty and staff care about student and look out for them.  I have worked here for 18+years and still love it.

We shopped around exhaustively for schools and this one had was "hands down" tops for academics. The (surprisingly) best part however was the kindness we were shown which was unique to Visitation. .

Best all-girls school in Saint Louis. Focus on education but they also have solid athletics.

Minnesota Excellence in Learning Academy (MELA)

I am so grateful that my kids are attending this school. Ms. Paula and her crew are all loving and caring staff. They do their best to help my children learn in every way possible, from special education, etc. To the teachers: thank you all for the endless love and support you provide our children each day!

My 2 kids have been attending MELA since kindergarten and pre-school. This is their second year there and they just love it there. The teachers and staff are all dedicated and attentive to the students’ needs.
MELA has just been awesome especially since the pandemic has started. The online education is very well structured; even though the kids don’t physically go to school, they still feel like they go to school.
Even though the school is 25 minutes away from our residence, we decided to let them stay there instead of moving them to another school that was just 4 minutes away from us, due to the facts listed above in addition to the diversity in the students, teachers and staff body. Above all, the communication between parents and staff/teachers is always on point.
During the car parade, son’s kindergarten teacher went out of her scheduled route just to come visit him. That shows how dedicated the teachers are and some will go beyond just to ensure that their students are valuable to them.

We are blessed to have our kids attend MELA and we salute and appreciate the teachers and staff. You guys are doing a great job!

My kids are thriving at this school. I love the teachers and school administration - great communication and assistance at all times. Definitely very hands on with the kids and ensuring they are learning and growing. They have the small groups where the kids are assessed individually and challenged to grow & learn. They have passion projects the kids love and always look forward to.

First year of kindergarten and preschool this year and my kids LOVE school. They come home every night excited to go back! The teachers are great and school has great communication.

I love staff here at Mela. Each time I had a concern the staff was quick to respond and follow up with the situation. I also like how in the morning time at drop off for my son,  that staff is greeting us with a good morning each time and always,  always tells me to have a great day.  I like the class dojo communication because it is nice to ask a question without having to call and I can also check in with my son teacher to see how things are going.  I just want to say thank you for helping my son grow academically.

My kids love this school❣ They were struggling in a brick & mortar building where the education and understanding was lacking. They have excelled and received all the service and support they needed and more! Great teachers that make an incredible team.
The App is also a great tool for multiple uses that they created. It makes enrolling, attendance, and socializing so much easier.

HORRIBLE, the teachers don’t even teach it’s up to the students to teach themselves. Literally gave my daughter academic anxiety, and many other mental illnesses.

My son has been attending here for last two years and it’s been a great journey for him and myself. The idea of taking charge of his all educational needs was a little scary at first but with time I got used to it and most time enjoyed helping and guiding him. The part I love most is teachers are always available for the students and learning coaches. You get tons of resources for extra activities outside school hours which is also great. Overall I am very happy with MGLVA and will continue my child’s education with them.

My daughter and I have been more happy with our experience with MGLVA than we ever thought possible with a school.  The teachers and administrators have all been very responsive to any need, and each teacher is quick to write back to email and phone messages.  My daughter has felt cared about by her teachers.  I have been impressed by the organization of the curriculum as well as by content. This school is a place where students will be treated as individuals.  Highly recommended!

I use to love this school and in the past I would recommend it. I have already had one child graduate from MGLVA I will be probably be looking for a new next year. It use to be that your child moved at their own pace but now they want to push your child along. It has become more like a traditional brick and mortar school.

Alabama Connections Academy

I really like this school, yeah there's thing to fix but that's with every school... the standard we put for ourselves is how we think or see  things. And my life standard are high, but this school has been a blessing. Not so many schools present good opportunity to student, the teacher are gratifying In their work. I truly thank them.

Happy with the Pearson platform, tutoring tools are also available. Teachers are easy to reach when you need them.  They strive for your child's success.  My child enjoyed the platform too.

The program includes weekly live lessons.  Physical activities are done on your own.  Art and music class are available depending on the local school.  Student clubs are also available.

If the parent and child are eager, its possible to reach other families.  The program works wonderfully for self driven children.  Be aware online schooling is not for everyone.  The program also includes weekly live sessions.  "Overall was a great experience".

I want to thank the faculty and staff of Alabama Connections Academy. They are by far the best school my son has ever attended. The teachers are caring, helpful, and knowledgeable. The guidance counselor Dr. Quaife deserves an award for all the things she does to help students. The school helped provide a safe environment, academic excellence, and a wonderful experience for my student and myself as a parent/learning coach. I highly recommend Alabama Connections Academy as an educator in my own profession in higher education. Thanks!

We have been very impressed with our children's experiences with Alabama Connections Academy. We withdrew our children from our local public school program after it was clear that they were struggling there with the educational inconsistencies that occurred during the pandemic and my once straight As sons were bringing home Cs and Ds. The time and attention that they were given with ACA was incredible. Slowly, my sons not only brought up their grades, but they were happier and felt supported and engaged. I was so thrilled to see that they had access to live lessons, clubs, and that parents were encouraged to participate. My son in high schools was given the opportunity to take dual enrollment at the University of Alabama. Because of that, he'll be entering college as a second semester freshman. The flexibility of the program has also allowed us to take family trips we never would have been able to take if they were in in-person classes. It's allowed our boys to also have time to read and participate in activities we would not have been able to do before. We've been able to do more things as a family just in general. I will always encourage folks to consider ACA if they are thinking about homeschooling or needing an educational alternative for their children.

After my daughter’s magnet school went virtual because of Covid, her grades plummeted. I enrolled her in ALCA and she has been on honor roll the entire year! She truly enjoyed the layout of the lessons and how easy it was to communicate with her teachers.

Explore Montessori

We highly recommend Explore! Our kiddo started in the Munari program when he was 3 months old, and over the past year he has grown and blossomed into a little tyke. Our son has some special needs and the teachers are truely invested in helping him meet milestones alongside his peers while, at the same time, meeting him where he is at when he needs it. The school has advocated for our kiddo and helped ensure that he has the best suport and learning environment possible. He loves his teachers and his friends, the art projects, and story time, and is truly excited to go to school each morning.

Love love Explore. My daughter attended over the summer before starting kindergarten. The growth that happened in just 4 months is incredible. I was thinking about holding my daughter back and not starting kindergarten til age 6. The staff over there worked with her and she made it! She's 5 years old, in kindergarten and thriving. We couldn't be more greatful! Thank you Jessica, Sarah, and staff.

As a teacher at this institution I can say with pride after just two years of working here that we strive to provide the best Montessori experience for children ages 6weeks- 12 years old within the Bozeman area. My main issue with this school is the elitist attitude they exude. I have to use the Best Beginnings scholarship for my child care payments. Originally, the scholarship plus the $10 co-pay was sufficient for the owner of the school for my toddler son’s care (for 5 straight months). The owner became upset with me for considering leaving and told me I would be required to cover the rest of the costs that my Best Beginnings scholarship didn’t cover ($710 extra) OR “If your hours of care can be reduced we could reduce the cost in line with the tuition sheet I provided.” How…as a single parent could I reduce my hours of work and still afford to live in Bozeman with a cap of $17 per hour for full time employment or else I have to pay out of pocket for child care costs as I would lose our scholarship if I even made $17.50 an hour? I’m also wondering if the owner is now requiring all other Best Beginnings recipients to follow this new procedure.

Once I secured a better place for my son, I asked for his belongings to be collected so I could pick them up. This process was achieved by the staff, who also left my son’s refrigerated pouches out for hours rather than in the fridge until I picked everything up. We are on food stamps and the assistant director knows this. I voiced that I was upset that 7 pouches had been left out to spoil. The assistant director acted callously towards me after voicing my frustration.

Other issues:

Upon signing my son up, I was charged $300 for a deposit as a single mother. Deposit fees are typically waived for single parents at most schools, but to each their own.

Food is not provided, which isn’t a huge deal, a lot of schools don’t either but this school also asks you to provide everything including bibs, sippy cups, plates, and community wipes.

Let’s talk about community wipes. The school originally asked for 1 package of wipes per month from each child (which was a mess for them to keep track of and I was asked even after bringing some in to bring in more), but has come to realize this does not sustain an entire month’s worth of use. Also, how does a school charging $1700 per month for a full time toddler spot not provide wipes for the families?

Le Petite Learning Center

This daycare is phenomenal. I worked there as an employee and it was a great experience. I’m not a parent yet but I can imagine the care they show to their employees is the same care what they would show their kids and parents.

My child attended La Petite and he learned so much from there. He was more than ready for big boy school.
