Had so much fun here everytime we were there. Our recent visit was during Christmas. Visited the Santa workshop. We got there around 3:30 and people were just forming the line. Santa here was so calm, gentle and friendly to the kids. Elf’s were so cute and engaged with every kid in the line leading to Santa. No rush just nice people. They didn’t rush anyone. I’m glad we were there even though we had no plans of being there. Photos were also very well taken and priced well.
Visited zoo Tampa over Christmas break and had a wonderful experience. Want to give a special shout out to the customer service folks working the morning shift on December 23rd. We had an issue with a ticket (our fault not the zoo's but they were able to fix it so we could enjoy our day. As for crowds, it was not to busy early in the day but gradually filled by late afternoon.
An excellent zoo! Last time I went was 17 years ago when it was Lowry park zoo. So many amazing animals to see, multiple food choices, clean and well kept grounds and habits for the animals. So many different encounters to choose from and educational talks. Overall I’m extremely pleased with my visit today and can’t wait to take my son back again. I bought tickets online and walked right in, no wait on a Wednesday afternoon at 1pm.
We visited the Park using CityPass as we are not from the area.
The Zoo does not seem that big to me, but definitely had enough things to see and do for a few hours.
We arrived at the Zoo soon after it opened on Dec 26, 2023. Parking was easy.
I like this Zoo for it allows visitors to see many animals up close!
One type of primates were very active. They made a lot of noises.
The Expedition Africa ride probably does not worth the wait as it only showed you the stuffs that we can walk up to see. The only upside was that there was a guide on the bus who can tell you more about the animals. We waited an hour for this ride and the ride itself was about 30 min.
The Zoo has a water ride, which only had about 5 min wait time. There were a few other little rides, but they were all closed.
The merry go-round was FREE!
The Zoo has a Florida section, Africa section, Asia section and an Australia section, which is coming.
The ride around Africa not worth the wait for us adults as we ended up walking to all areas later. We loved all the animals. Our favorites were the manatees and the orangutans, and Lorikeets. Saw feedings in these areas. Staff very engaging. Thanks to all that work so hard in caring for precious animals! We booked ahead and started at 9:30. We spent 6 hours there. Restaurant near main circle had great French dip sandwiches. Missed flyover with Macaws, canceled due to winds. Have to go another time.
