The property had many people interested, within 24 hours my offer was accepted by the seller and a sales contract signed (Arras), and I paid the 10% deposit. Just over 1 week later we were at the notary to sign, ( I wanted a fast transaction even though you are allowed up to 3 months to complete). José Maria also helped me to find a good company to do the reform and helped me with other bureaucratic procedures.

I researched buying a property in Spain for months before I ventured over in July 2021. I figured I would go a few times to figure out what I didn't read about. I also knew I could never get it all done before Spain's "2021 tax sale" expired on 12/31/21 (7% as opposed to 10%). A friend asked me to meet with Hamilton because he had been so helpful to him about real estate, but they had never done a deal together. We met, he figured me out, brought me to the perfect property (then showed me some others), I went back to the first property and realized he was right. I knew noone in Malaga, and went under his advisement with an attorney he knew and a mortgage broker. The process was not easy, and I don't speak Spanish! But this team pulled thru for me at every turn (not to mention dealing with my sometimes challenging personality in the process). 5 stars is one thing, but now I put my energy behind Hamilton and talk to nervous or inquisitive English speaking property seekers for Hamilton. This has helped me build friendships along the way. Yes, I closed within 2021. Very exciting.
