Had an incredible hair experience at Ulta! Mackenzie K made me feel like a beautiful new person with my hair cut and tinsel! Highly recommend :) Great prices and great people.

I would most definitely recommend Mackenzie K! She is phenomenal at doing color on hair. I went from half of my hair being my roots and a dry hay looking blonde at the bottom, to a luscious chocolate natural looking brown. Mackenzie made me feel welcomed, very attentive to my needs and making sure that I didn’t leave with hair I liked but left with hair I LOVED. She asked if I had any inspiration pictures and she nailed them to the T!!!! She offered me water. I was there for almost 3 and a half hours and it felt like 30 a hour. She was able to carry a conversation and the chairs are so comfy. I would highly recommend going to Mackenzie for your hair goals needs.

My experience at the Salon at Ulta Beauty in Newington was amazing! I was fortunate enough to have Jess as my stylist. Jess gave me a full foil of blonde highlights and a deep conditioning treatment. I received so many compliments of my hair and recommend everyone to Jess. I’m looking forward to my upcoming appointment in two weeks!

I purchased 2 ULTA Beauty gift cards, $50 each, for a total of $100 12/2/2023 at the Newington NH (Sometimes listed as Portsmouth NH) store location. The receipt details are...Transaction #6034, Store #599, Date 12/2/23, Register #1, Time 11:06 AM (EST), Cashier Josselyn. The gift cards were Christmas gifts. One of those gift cards worked as intended, however the other only allowed the user to spend $25 out of the $50. I called the number on the back of the gift card 12/29/23 and the ULTA representative transferred me to CASH STAR. I was not able to speak with a live person at CASH STAR and the line was disconnected. I tried again and the same thing happened. I went to the Newington NH ULTA store location 1/1/24 and spoke with the manager. I did not ask her name. She informed me there was nothing she could do for me but it is a "known glitch" that the card I purchased with the words "Unwrap Joy" on the front had the issue I was experiencing and that I need to call the number on the back of the gift card. I explained to her that I already tried that and she said there was nothing she could do for me at the store. I called the number again on the back of the gift card and still received no resolution. I emailed gift card support at CASH STAR 1/1/24. After several emails back and forth with both ULTA and CASH STAR I was told I need to speak with someone at the Newington NH store location. This has turned into an endless loop of nobody at ULTA wanting to take responsibility and it makes me wonder if they are intending to make this issue as difficult as possible for consumers so as not to need to honor gift card amounts already purchased.

I made an appointment at Ulta instead of my usual salon because I only needed a trim and figured it was a simple enough task. Unfortunately, while my stylist, Erika, was a very nice person, she did not listen to my request at all. I showed her a picture (and at one point even showed her with my hands) exactly how much I wanted taken off. I explicitly said I was growing my hair out and didn’t want more than a half inch removed. I also explained I would like her to follow the current shape of my bangs when she trimmed them (an arc). What I got was a good 3” shorter hair cut with uneven layers and bangs like Lloyd Christmas. My advice, stick with your usual stylist and stay away from Ulta!
