The UPS Store

We had a package to mail. We went in on a Saturday. We stressed it was not an emergency and didn’t need to get there overnight or anything. I was quoted $150 initially. I questioned it because it was a small package and anticipated spending much less. I was given an option for 97 or ground for 70 but was told it would take 3 weeks to get there. I called my husband in and he was surprised by the cost as well and questioned other options. The worker told us there were no other options and other places would be just as much if not more. When I called the store to complain, I was told that prices are higher on the weekend, and the owner is telling staff to push these expensive services to the customer and not offer the less expensive options. That is lying and deceiving customers! I went to USPS and sent the package for over half off and staff was very pleasant. I recommend the post office and not this UPS store!

DO NOT USE THIS UPS STORE'S SERVICES!! This is absolutely the worst UPS store I have ever been to. The owner has been rude every single time we have been there. After paying an unexpected large amount of money for holding my package, instead of smiling and working with me, he was rude and self-righteous. Not only that, when I needed help carrying out my package because I have a tear in my shoulder, there was absolutely no effort to help me whatsoever and I hurt myself. On another occasion, I simply asked for a small piece of tape. I was told I was going to be charged several dollars for a little piece of tape. They are cheap, unhelpful, and do not care about their customers - period. I will no longer be using their services.

I do not recommend this store. We have our mail going to this location. I am out of state most of the time and I have to call them to have my mail shipped to me. They hardly ever answer there phone. When they do answer, the employees are short with me and very rude. I pay in advance for a year of having my mailbox, and I of course have to pay every time they ship my mail, but when I call they either put me on hold to help the in-store customers first or tell me that I will have to call back because the in-store customers are more important. One time it took 3 weeks to get them to pick up the phone and ship me my mail. This was with me calling them 5-10 times per day. The only reason I finally got my mail was because I had to send family to that store to talk to them in person after weeks of calling with NO answer. Do not open a mailbox at this location (Ankeny, Iowa).

The older gentleman who works the counter is very friendly and helpful but avoid this store for all notary services. We scheduled a 9 AM and were not told until arrival they don't offer notary until after 11 AM.... even though we were able to schedule the time and got a confirmation email for 9 AM. It's hard to complain about a free service, but leaving this review so others don't waste their time.

This store is horrible! We have had 2 separate instances where items we were sending back, never made it. First, my husband and I's cell phones that we were trading in to Verizon were stolen. The box made it to Verizon, but it was empty when it got there. Second, was a large purchase from amazon, that never made it back to Amazon. This facility obviously has issues with it employees!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!
