Shear Madness

This was going to be my first visit to Shear Madness. The previous reviews were very good so I called to make an appointment. The person who answered the phone indicated he was the new owner. An appointment was made for Friday at 2pm. I explained that I had a meeting at 3pm and I was attending an event later that evening. So would he be able to get the cut done on time. He said he could. Today I show up at 2pm, the nice gal at the counter confirmed my appointment, the owner was busy with another customer. He didn't acknowledge my presence. She then washed my hair and sat me back to wait at 2:15. The owner said it would be a few minutes. I waited until 2:30, I reminded the owner I needed to be out by 3pm. He rudely said, I told you it would be a few minutes. That was it, I was not going to wait and then have him either rush through the cut or make me late. I got up to leave and he comes after me for payment of the wash. REALLY!! The wash is part of the cut!! But, I felt bad for the nice gal, so I paid $15.00 for the honor of stepping into his salon and then leaving with sopping wet hair. Perhaps this guy is the best in world and is worth the wait. I can't say. But no business owner should treat a new customer with the rudeness and disrespect this guy did. I'm a business owner, I surely don't.

Without a doubt, Shear Madness is one of the best hair salons in LA county. I would rate this salon 6+ stars if I could! Alicja, Bernadette, Beata, and Rachel are not only extremely skilled stylists, but also have the sweetest and most caring personalities. Getting hair done by them is a pleasure! I appreciate each woman's professionalism, and especially how each takes the time to listen to their clients and offer honest advice. My mom and I have been coming to them for years and have never been disappointed with their work. An added is bonus is the salon’s eye-catching, vintage interior. It really sets the mood for a rejuvenating experience! Bottom line, if you’re looking for a fantastic hair treatment that will leave you feeling refreshed and confident, come to Shear Madness. You won't regret it! :)
