We showed up an hour before close, and honestly, that's all you really need to get through the exhibits. Especially if you have younger children who don't want to hang around and read all the info.
They are Blue Star affiliated, which I just learned means AD military plus 5 guests get in for free, so that was a nice surprise.
The touch pools are really entertaining with sea stars, crabs, sea snails, etc. My kids enjoyed this part the best and spent the most time here. They also do presentations. We caught the last one on the lobster, and it was informative and interactive. At the end, the children were allowed to go up and touch one.
The center is located inside the state park, so you need to pay for parking. I believe it's per person in the vehicle, I can't remember, but the total for 2 adults and 3 children was 12 dollars. Once you finish the center you can walk around the park. They have a good sized play ground, a food truck, picnic tables, and a wonderful view of the coast. My kids loved searching through the rocks. Overall, it was a great visit.
Great little spot with wonderful staff! My kids (5 and 2) could have dug for hours in the sand area and played all day with the boat and lobster trap. The park it's in is beautiful and has a good playground too!
We took our granddaughters to the Seacoast Science Center in Rye for an educational trip. Lots of things for them to see, touch, and explore. The staff was very helpful and friendly as they interacted with the many children there. Lots to learn about the ocean. Well worth a visit!
Fun exploration place for kids with marine life. the place is not big but quite enough to keep kids engaged and learn something new.
There is a state park fee for entering plus the admission fee.
Whats more is there is a small playground just a few steps away outside of the science building.
We had the best wedding at the Seacoast Science Center! It's truly a blank canvas you can use to make your dreams come true! There are some state park restrictions but the amazing event manager there, Hollie, helped us through those every step of the way. The venue was beautiful and all of our guests and vendors were blown away by it. The amazing staff at the science center were so helpful day of to, making sure things went off without a hitch! I would highly recommend this venue.
