Reasons to love SOR Knoxville:
1) Fun to learn: students get to learn to play music they love from day 1.
2) Good vibes: the staff is genuinely invested in teaching the students and being there for them, and the students seem to really WANT to be there and like the teachers and staff.
3) Rock Band programs: the students are creating something together, they are learning together, and they are forging friendships. All of this is the best example of positive peer pressure because students want to show up for their peers. And I love that at the end of the 4 months in their band, they actually perform on a real stage and they DO IT!
4) Character-building: Self confidence can't be given to a child: it must be earned. SOR is as much a business of character-building as it is performance instruction: I feel very fortunate that my children have this experience to help them overcome fears and gain self confidence all while learning to play instruments they can play throughout their lives.
great program, great teachers... great environment for fun!!!! and not your 1950's music lessons of the past.... Really makes learning an instrument fun and building on itself.
All three of my kids had a great experience! They loved their director, Aspen, and also the assistants that helped along the way. It was a great introduction to music and instruments and Rock. We had a great overall experience!
Amazing school for music. Integrating the band songs into the lessons makes music fun and not mundane lesson after lesson to nowhere. Staff has great energy and patience with the students.
If this had existed when I was a kid I’d be 10x the musician I am today.
Love the concept!!!
I think this this school has been great for my son. His appreciation of music has increased tremendously and the concerts he has performed in have been incredibly memorable.
