I had recently decided to depart with my realtor of a different company. I was shortly contacted by remax realty and asked if I would like for them to sell my house. As soon as I told the agent who contacted me that I already had a real estate agent and I was not interested and he decided to shoot a quick insult at me and then hang up the phone. If this is an indication of what level of service they're willing to provide then you probably wouldn't want to go with them. It's indicative of a predatory service that doesn't play well when they don't get their way so anybody who wants to use them use caution. I personally think that the best move I'made today was denying them the business. Companies that really want you to remember them and work with them will keep it professional all the way from the beginning to the very end of the phone call.

Donna Nettestad and her son, Jarod have helped us in 4 separate purchases and sells in the past few years. We just closed on the purchase of our dream home and forever home this month. It is a historic home built in 1910 just two blocks off Main Street in Safety Harbor. On the morning of the open house there were so many interested purchasers that we had to wait in line to view the home. We knew it would be sold that same day. With Donna's assistance, we were able to acquire the home. She goes above and beyond to make these transactions seamless and nonstressful. I would recommend Donna and Jarod for all your buying and selling needs.

I didn’t want to start off the New Year with anything negative, but our experience with one of the agents at this ReMax location was a nightmare. He stopped caring about our purchase after learning his commission would go down after I suffered a terrible car accident and I had to purchase a new vehicle, making our price point go down. We have a family of 6 and wanted to move into a four bedroom two bathroom home that would fit our family’s needs and be closer to my job. The one hour commute to and from work was too much, and as a teacher and mom of four, we wanted to simplify our lives. Up until then, the criteria was fairly easy to follow. We just wanted a four bedroom, two bath home with a newer roof and AC, and no carpet. I was the one who found and suggested every single property we viewed and all he did was meet us there and tell us if it had ever had an insurance claim for sink holes which was his only criteria for advising if it was a good idea to put in an offer. Another agent from that office, his wife, was in charge of selling our current home, and was doing a fantastic job. We had a ton of offers in the first week. That was great and all, but we were trying to process everything that had just happened and figure out where we stood with our lender. We were being pressured to close before Christmas and had an offer on the table that they did not want to let go. So, I found a house that just hit the market in Port Ritchey and it seemed to fit all of our criteria. It was an hour away from where we were currently living. We took the drive up and decided since everyone seemed to be in such a hurry that we would put in an offer. The listing said it was a four bedroom two bath and that it was newly back on the market because financing had fell through for someone else in September. We were told the appraisal, inspection, and everything had already been done so it would be easy. We’d only have to do the required inspection for our homeowners insurance, and the house was vacant because the seller was a flipper and renter. So, back to our buying realtor, he told us the roof had been re-done in 2016, brand new AC, all new tile, four bedroom, two bath... seems like a great deal and well within our price range. At this point he was boasting that he owned a $1.5 million home in a super elite neighborhood in northern Pinellas county, and his whole attitude completely changed toward us. He was not looking out for us anymore, they were ready to be done with us. My husband and I did everything they asked so we could close before Christmas and on the second day that we were in our new home after closing we learned that the would be fourth bedroom was not a bedroom at all. It is an enclosed patio with an aluminum canopy roof that leaked!! We asked them how they could have mislead us, knowing we have a family of six and the situation that we were in. Their stance was just to step back and away since we had already closed and now we are literally stuck with a three bedroom, two bath with a enclosed patio that leaks and has been deemed inhabitable by four different roofers. We consulted a real estate attorney and since we didn’t ask all the right questions and failed to find out that that portion of the roof is over 20 years old, we are stuck with a room we can’t use or we have to pay well over $15,000 to bring it up to code so that it can actually be a habitable living space, a fourth bedroom. So now we have our three-year-old son living in the master bedroom with us, two of our daughters bunking in one room and our oldest has her own room. We paid these ReMax agents over $10k in real estate commissions because they put on a great act. The truth is, all they care about is stuffing their bank accounts, not their clients or the well-being of others at all. I wanted to share this with everyone so before you decide to use ReMax or their agents, especially at this location, know that they definitely don’t care about you unless you’re wealthy.

Complete and total group of idiots. I tried for 9 days to purchase a home listed by this group. On day 9 I finally and transferred to the broker who assures me someone will call. Instead he messages me back saying mike and Brantley both just tried to call me. I am literally holding the phone in my hands. Enough excuses. Work for your client. It's your job. Stop making up lies.

I rented an apartment from the Smith team at ReMax Realtec and it was a disappointment in almost every respect. When I saw the apartment initially the power was off, so much of what I'm about to say was impossible to know. First, the apartment was FILTHY when I got there. The landlord offered excuses and finally sent a relative of hers out to clean the kitchen. I had already cleaned the bathroom myself because no one would have used it - it was that dirty. The carpets were thin (well past worn out) and stained in numerous places. I was told that the previous tenant had cats. That probably explained the musty smell whenever the AC was off. My complaints about the condition of the carpets led to a man arriving with a floor polishing machine which he tried to tell me was a dry carpet cleaning machine. When he left the carpets were just as dirty as when he started. Screens for the windows were needed and it took nearly 4 months to accomplish such a simple task. The screens on the porch were falling out of their frame but the landlord did not care enough to send someone to fix it. Perhaps none of this would be an issue in hindsight. But when I moved recently I had cleaned the apartment from head to toe. I did not clean carpets as they were delivered dirty and I was told they were due to be replaced. Facts aside, I was charged a hefty percentage of my security deposit for cleaning and carpets. Chances are she pocketed every penny of that money and didn't clean one thing beyond what I had done. Glad to be a former tenant of the Smith Team at ReMax RealTec. I DO NOT Recommend them...
