Good:
The landscape design is truly amazing. As is the architecture, with beautifully designed rooms and lobby area. The pool is beautiful and I enjoyed hanging out there. The yoga teacher was friendly and still held class even though no one else signed up. Dinner was fantastic (very pricey however, which I knew going in)
Bad:
The service was, for lack of a better word, mid. This is the first hotel I have seen in some time without complimentary coffee in the lobby or espresso maker in the room or something. The drinks are lightly poured and crazy expensive. It's very hard to get a clear answer on what is included and what you have to pay extra for in terms of the daily activities. I was frustrated with the marketing in regards to some sort of beach access as there is none. I was told the restaurant closed at 10:30pm and went to order a drink at 9pm after a dinner off-site and the server seemed annoyed by this and slapped a menu in front me and said "what do you want" after about two seconds. I said I wanted to review the menu and kindly asked "are you closing early or something?" to which he looked at his watch, rolled his eyes, and walked away. I cant say I will return.
Our family has travelled extensively around the world for 30 years, and I can't think of anywhere that we've experienced worse service. So bad, it felt surreal, almost like it was done on purpose because this many people couldn't mess up so badly with this level of consistency. Wait service was inattentive and unfriendly, we'd often sit at our table for 20 minutes before anyone came, the most basic dishes took 45 min to an hour to arrive. Some dishes never arrived at all. After repeated requests for an update, no answers were given and we just had to leave without getting what we ordered. Many trips for all of us back and forth to the kitchen asking for wine, another drink, when will our food arrive, etc, etc. - and this 3 times a day every day! On our last night, 9 out of about 15 scant dishes offered were not available as they'd run out of ingredients! Not great planning for the busy new years bookings There was no presence of leadership at all, like a general manager to speak with or check in with guests to see how their experience was. Prices were insane as well. Wine that cost $60 retail was being offered at $400. Just writing this in case you get misled by some of the earlier reviews from luxury travel magazines - the only thing luxurious about this resort was their level of pricing, but the service and experience can't begin to substantiate the expense.
beautiful hotel on the outsides of todos santos. great for a weekend getaway for clearing your head and relaxing at the beautiful amenities the hotel has. the staff is very serviceable.
the hotel does have a certain relaxation vibe to it. the food at the restaurant is good, and sizes are reasonable. the chef is amazing and presentation is always impeccable.
**Not an influencer, paid full price to stay here.** WOW. From the moment we arrived we were blown away. I'm not going to lie, I read a few of the bad reviews before coming and was a little hesitant about what to expect. Within MOMENTS of arriving all of my hesitations went out the window. Every single thing has been perfect. From the sunset beach, to surfing, to our cooking class this afternoon it has been PURE magic. They are also seeing up a private bonfire for us tonight. Everyone has gone out of their way to make us feel like royalty. The only bad thing is the entitled guests π! If you are looking for a beautiful experience in Baja Sur this is it!
My wife and I spend 2 days at Paradero as part of our 4 stop honeymoon in Mexico, and it was by far the best place we stayed. The property and its surroundings are absolutely stunning. The rooms themselves have a unique brutalist design yet are extremely comfortable. Because it was our honeymoon, we were generously upgraded to the rooftop suite with hammock, which was extremely kind of management. While there were a lot of experiences on offer we were only able to do the sunset beach excursion, which was beautiful and our guide Diego was very fun to speak with, enhancing the experience. Personally, my favorite aspect of Paradero was both the food (some of the best I have ever had) and the hospitality. The service was unmatched, and everyone we spoke to was extremely friendly helpful. The absolute standout was Cesar, who my wife and I had the pleasure of talking to at various points during our stay - he was by far the hardest worker I have seen in the hospitality field to date, and really made our stay special. That man deserves a raise! In all, Paradero was a truly outstanding experience and we certainly plan on going back again.
