My car was thoroughly damaged from a winter storm this past year. A co worker recommended O’Hare Auto Body, so I brought my car over to them for an estimate. Every employee was super helpful, but the estimator Phil Santiago could not have been better. He was straight forward and didn’t cut corners. He reassured me they would take good care of my car and I believed him. He even set me up with a rental immediately. Less than two weeks later, my car looked brand new. I couldn’t be happier with their service. I’ll send anyone their way, that needs any body work on their car.
I really don't know how this placed gets negative reviews. They were very professionally and courteous during the whole process especially Nadine, she was amazing in helping me. Patrick was great as well, super informative nice guy. I did damage to my rear bumper and was really worried about it getting it repaired to make it look like it never happened especially the paint matching. Nadine researched so I could get a new bumper and worked w/ my insurance to make sure i got it. Next they matched the paint perfectly and you cannot even tell a difference. There was a minor hiccup but they addressed it. They are even getting my ceramic coating covered through my insurance (Still waiting on that though but I'm sure they will come through). Overall a great experience and if you bring your car here you will not have to worry about them getting it right.
(short version) Basically the shop made up stories, lies about my repair…every time when they run into problem they told me tesla parts are late, they shipped late, took my insurance two weeks to approve the works but at the end they never requested any supplement for two weeks but blamed my insurance, and they didnt order parts on time but blamed tesla and shipping
And my car horn still doesn’t work and the frunk mats are missing after the repair and they blamed on me lol
**Long story if you are up for a novel lol
What a nightmare! $8700 & 6.5 weeks later…just to replaced the front hood, a senor, the bumper and a few minor parts….!
This is to share my repair experiences so you know what can be expected other than tesla delay, shipping issue or insurance approval process…this is not meant to put any shop on blast(altho may looks like lol)
I picked a highly recommended shop here for my front collision repair but my tesla pretty much wasted at least 2 weeks(or more) in their lot waiting for parts or insurance approval(according to the shop).
I want to start by saying, the shop has very good customer services ‘at the beginning’(not so much after lol), even opened up and found more damage inside, during estimate appointment said will order today, parts will be received by time of my repair appointment which is two months from my estimate, repair will be done in two weeks. The tech provide a weekly update and the works done look very very good however can work on timing better, much better. How about four weeks better…
On the day on my repair appointment, I called make sure all parts arrived and knowing they are busy I asked make sure they have the tech ready if not I would drop off at a later date(after all we all love to drive our tesla right?)…I was told they are all set!
Dropped off Monday morning, the nosy me opened my app 3-4times a day every day, but my car been just sitting in the rear lot not moved for the first three days. On Thursday morning, my car finally inside the shop according to the app, later in the afternoon, they called told me they r doing final inspection now to next monday and should have a report ready by Monday but so far found more damage. I told the tech, agent A, at the estimate appt two months ago the tech opened up and Agent T told me parts will be ordered so by time at repair u will have all the needed parts available. Tech A quickly said, additional to those, need more parts. (I totally understand, perhaps they found more as they making repairs). He did say the estimated completion is still on for Jan 18th(about two weeks, i dropped off on Jan 3rd)
Two days later, I got an email from tesla, informed what parts was ordered today(NOT TWO MONTHS AGO!!! I didn’t even know I would get an email from tesla or else you know I will be on the shop case why I didn’t get an email in November!)…to my surprised, they didn’t order anything, not even the bumper, hood or the front lights or anything!! The day tesla emailed me about what parts were ordered was two days after the shop told me about the final inspection!!! I agreed an estimate appt so the shop can get a closer look to know what needed to be order knowing tesla is always late and parts might be delayed….So I went in, early November for the estimate, they told me they would order parts however tesla invoice show order day is a week after I dropped off my car in January! At estimate, Agent T even called my insurance to get approval of supplement in which, my insurance approved on the spot on the phone call! So it is not like they are waiting on insurance approval...
When I asked teach A who called me for the update I asked so why tesla sent me an email that your shop ordered the parts now(in January) not November? He told me they did but tesla is slow in shipping and told me they wouldn’t want to hold my car there since their lot is small and wanted get car repaired as soon as possible(which all make sense tesla is always late lol, even tho invoice show ‘order date’ as Jan not Nov!)
Even though O'hare is 45 mins away from here, ever since I used them for a small repair and got a fantastic job done. I've towed my crashed car for 45 mins to their shop at my personal cost because I know I can expect the best and they consistently deliver at the highest level. Rob, Deanna, Amanda all ensured they communicate regularly, kept me appraised on all the dealings with the insurance company and returned my car to me in impeccable condition. I wouldn't dream of giving my cars to another shop. Thank you O'hare!
This place was great with helping me repair my just purchased Tesla after I was rear ended. They worked with the insurance estimate and got the car fixed quickly. They couple with a Hertz and that allowed for easy rental through insurance. Being communicative and easy to work with made a difficult situation easy to deal with. I highly recommend them.
