Not a usual building for a capitol in the US, but at same time it's a better example of the capitalism feature of the country and the old boring office style.
Fortunately, it has some places of history and it looks really nice at night with good lighst around (but what doesn't?).
Enough parking spots, at least at night.
The building is nice and clean, as well as the territory as a whole. It was pretty cool to see, definitely very different from other state capitols around the US.
This state capitol might look unassuming outside, but is very interesting inside. The history dramatically affected the design and architecture.
I appreciated the simplicity and yet detailed touches for the interior design. The downstairs lobby has an unusual hall of portraits of famous and influential North Dakota residents, rather than the typical government position holder's portraits. The history mentioned with each of the portraits is worth the trip to the capitol.
I've had several guided tours and each have been informative. A visit to the top floor is fun to read more history of North Dakota but especially for the views in all directions.
I highly recommend visiting the North Dakota state capitol and the guided tour.
We didn't take the guided tour, so we weren't always sure what we were looking at, but the building is a good example of Art Deco Design. Facilities are clean and employees are courteous.

My 48th State Capitol. Looks like an office building. Bottom 10 of all Capitols.
