This gym is great, everyone I met there was welcoming and cool. There is a lot of space to roll and not have to collide with others. I appreciated that it wasnβt a gym that frowns upon using takedowns and wrestling. A solid amount of people stayed after class and rolled. Had a lot of fun!
No Coast BJJ is an excellent place to train! I regularly train in Colorado and I stop into No Coast whenever I am in Iowa. All of the members make me feel very welcome and are great to train with! Angela is also an excellent and patient instructor.
If you live in or near the Des Moines area or are even just stopping through, I highly recommend training here!
I've been doing BJJ for 5+ years. I dropped in to a class at No Coast BJJ as part of a family visit to Des Moines. No Coast held a well-structured class of drilling a technique - and had some chill and some competitive rolls in the open mat after class. Had a good variety of students from the recreational to the competitive.
If you're traveling through the Des Moines area, stop by for their class and open mat on Saturday mornings - it was a good time.
While stationed at Camp Dodge for 3 weeks I decided to purchase a month at No Coast BJJ. The coaches are too notch and very welcoming. I recommend any of my military brothers and sisters visiting to give them a shot.
Great instructors at helping beginners along with upper belts. They also help you understand the Martial Art component of Mind Body connection that is so valuable in BJJ. Members are all welcoming and helpful to beginners.
