We are travelling from the UK and halfway through a road trip around Texas and New Mexico. We have stayed in modern hotels, a caboose, a cabin and roadside motels, this is by far the worst experience.
I understand it's an historical hotel but our room, 217, was shabby. We had to ask for air freshener because of the smell in the room. There isn't any coffee making facilities despite the booking details stating there was. When we asked at reception we were told coffee and tea is available downstairs between the hours of 5am and 7am, after that you pay for it. The details on the booking site are wrong.
Minimal toiletries provided, towels are as old as the hotel.
We've stayed in older hotels before but they have been clean and refreshed, this is very tired.
Only one bulb working in bathroom, fridge is inadequate, plug sockets don't work. Bedding and towels do not smell fresh. Generally very disappointed.
Needs a good clean, mirror in room is dusty, fan is the same. Outlook from 217 is dire. Definitely not worth the money. It's also very noisy with people above just walking around their room. I do not recommend, also I can not understand the 5 star reviews, maybe being British my expectations of a stay in an historic hotel are more than this hotel can provide.
Las Vegas itself is rundown and not worth visiting.
It's worth noting if you use your card to purchase anything there is a 3% charge on top!!
Best Old Town little historic location and Las Vegas New Mexico. Everyone comes out on a Friday afternoon to hear the local entertainment for the evening. All free. Bring your chair and food to eat and enjoy this little Community come to life.
Restaurant food was awful. 30$ for and old gross cheese and meat board. Meat had green color. Only 2 cheeses. Rest was carrots, sun dried tomato’s .fig gross. It was so bad. Learn how to make a charcuterie board. Shared an over cooked pack of flavor grilled cheese . With gross limp fries. I would not eat here again. Over rated .money trap

Beautiful park to hang out in. Always events going on during the summer.

Cool old town with historic plaza. Original fire station was fun to visit. Enjoyed walking around and doing antique shop entertainment.
