My wife and I booked a two tank Molokini Crater Back Wall dive with Lahaina Divers and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our experience! The trip was all around comfy on the boat with Captain Cory and under the water with our divemaster Parker, both were beyond expectation! Book with these folks and you’ll be 100% taken care of 🤿

Sort of a last minute booking. We asked around Oahu and couldn’t find recommendations for a dive shop on Maui. We took a gamble on Lahaina Divers for their Cathedrals Saturday dive. As we were getting ready to sail, the staff asked how many aboard were returning customers. It was very reassuring to see just about everybody raise their hand. As we pulled out of the harbor, Jeremiah gave a blessing asking for permission to enter the ocean which was a nice local experience I hadn’t had before. The staff were knowledgeable, fun, and very professional. Thanks to JT, Jeremiah, Jacob and Morgan. We’ll take the name back to our dive shop and recommend them to any Maui visitors we know!

Let me start off by acknowledging after having an awesome hammerhead diving experience, it’s hard not to be a bit biased. That said, let me tell you why these guys deserve 5 (or more) stars. First of all, safety. The gear was solid. The crew was extremely thorough in their presentation for the boat, other divers, as well as the dive profile overall. And, while diving, the DM’s (Jules and Logan) were very consistent in following up on everyone and making sure they were tended to and safe. When other drivers commented they didn’t feel comfortable, they supported them, without pressure. I was witness to this exact situation, and that diver ended up having an Incredible time. Next, ego. There is none. This was by far the best crew I ever have dove with and they were super knowledgeable if they wanted to show off. The captain, Cory, was hilarious as well as disciplined and safe/experienced. And the DMs have been doing this for awhile as well. Next, adventure! Man what an adventure! The hammerhead dive was wild! And not just because of the awesome sharks. The boat ride there and back was quite an experience (take seasick pills if you get sick!). Lastly, humor. I may have already shared this but each of the staff had the best attitude. It’s super clear that they genuinely love what they do. Cap that all off with epic dives, great vis, an adventuresome dive unlike any other, and some great hammerhead encounters and how could you not give them 5+ stars? If I had anything negative to say, and this is stretching it, it’s that a) it’s a tad expensive (it’s hawaii after all though and totally worth it but be prepared to spend over $400) and b) I didn’t like that they require you to buy a surface buoy for the dive. I totally get why, and support the need for it 100%, just a bummer you can rent all the other gear but have to pay $35 for a buoy. I donated mine back at the end. Again, I’m being super nit picky here to try to give a counter to all the awesomeness. Cory, Jules, Logan, and the new amazing Natalie were instant favorites of mine. And shout out to Jess in the office for taking care of me in the beginning and helping me get set up for it also! Final note (if you’re still reading)- be sure to watch your elevation! I was sleeping at 3k Ft and had to cancel a dive and then also rent a van to sleep at sea level before my flight next day. It’s easy to forget about this in hawaii but plan your dives and time to recover and you’ll be all set. Happy travels my friends! Enjoy the journey

We did our AOW here and a couple other fun dives. The diving equipments are amazing and there are enough space for everyone on the boat even if it’s a relatively big group. Staff are amazing from the shop to the boat. They are friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Thank you everyone for the unforgettable experience and we will definitely come back to dive with you guys again. Thank you Logan you are the best instructors!

I HIGHLY recommend Lahaina Divers. Do your research. Learn about the dive sites and all the dive operators. I was first introduced to Lahaina Divers in 2007. The experience was extraordinary and I've never forgotten. Finally the chance came (2022!) to go back. I looked at all the dive shops online and called them all. There was no doubt I would be diving with Lahaina Divers again! My research confirmed it. 4 boat trips/8 dives/3 days. Wish I had time for more! The boats are in great shape. I'm told they cap the load at 16 divers. The most we had was 14 and there was plenty of room to gear-up pre-dive as well as lounge on deck. Diver safety and fun diving were their priorities. Roll call before the boat untied from the dock. Roll call after each dive. Divemasters/instructors/captains did a great job of assisting divers into and out of the water. They did buoyancy checks and kept track of peoples' air consumption in a good way (not an annoying way) throughout the dives. They were great tour guides and made sure to point out all the best critters to look at. Their rental gear was top notch. BCDs/regulators/computers and tanks already set up and waiting aboard. Anything else needed from the shop was a quick experience and the team was happy to haul everything to the dock in their truck (including dive bags for those of us with our own gear). The walk to the boat is about 3 short blocks from the shop. The captains (Brad and Kasey) were both crusty old pros who helmed the boats well. The divemasters/instructors/boat crews were friendly, professional, calm, helpful and quick. All of them worked tirelessly so the divers could get in the water fast and spend the most bottom time possible on every dive. Tip your crews - they earn all of it and more! Interestingly the marine life seems to have thrived in the time of Covid lock-down. I hope it lasts a long time as the turtles looked far more healthy than in '07. Mahalo to our crew(s)/guides, in particular: Becca - continue to live your life fearlessly. You have wonderful energy. Life involves choices and compromises but it doesn't require settling. So don't. You are a wonderful human being! Morgan - the world needs marine biologists such as yourself if human life is to survive for generations to come. May you always live where the dive waters are warm though the arctic regions may hold the keys to the planet's future. Parker - I have a question for you: do you ever have an off day? Is there extra caffeine in your morning coffee? Your joie de vivre is infectious in a good way though your taste in music leaves something to be desired by the average age of your dive customers! Matt and Logan - excellent spotters of cool stuff! Kasey - the dolphin pod was awesome! The team did a great job of separating the assembled divers into groups that fairly matched divers' experience levels. That can't be easy with some divers on their 1st dives since OW certification and some with 100s to 1000s of dives under their weight belts. They took care to maximize the experience for all aboard! Suggestion box for management: consider putting retractable gear holders on your rental computers - so many just let them drag which is bad for the gear and really bad for the ocean floor (I observed a diver snag a finger of coral and watched the 3-4 inch piece sheer off!). To the impatient diver who shoved me into an urchin: I had a different "Hawaiian tattoo" in mind for my souvenir! Parker said it best: social distancing isn't just for on the surface! Soap box to certified divers: 60 feet down and the difference between many PADI divers and NAUI/military trained is pretty evident. Diving isn't cheap. Being honest about your capabilities and limits translates to better value for your dive dollars spent. PADI "peak performance buoyancy" is a great investment in more enjoyable dives! Mahalo nui loa ia oe!
