JC Licht Ace South Loop

Had good experiences with customer service here, and good selection! Only reason for 3 star review is that I have had trouble with quality of Ace Hardware brand tools :( recently I bought a torx screwdriver set here and it stripped out almost immediately on me. I have an iFixit set at home that has worked marvelously for multiple laptop jobs, but this set wore out after 10 screws.

Ace has everything! And is extremely close to my sons apartment. So it literally is the neighborhood hardware store. For a socket set and small trash can there. Plus Oxy Clean powder. They even have key making services and snacks! Great option for necessities.

Always very friendly and some of the staff seem to know quite a bit, others do not really and act bothered if you ask for help. The prices are quite high however and with limited return policies and lack of stock, its not worth going to if you can order online/go to home depot. This area is extremely limited on building supplies. The next best bet is probably the Ace in river north, much better selection, gold coast ace is just as limited, as is the home depot in south loop.

I run a restaurant in the area and have stopped by this location multiple times for various pieces of hardware. The employees are always friendly and helpful! The assistant manager Alex helped me today and went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience!
