I was looking for B&B charcoal and they were the only place in my area that had it. Now some of the items were a lil bit pricier than other stores but a great local place to shop at.
This place is an example of excellent customer service. From the moment you walk in until you are pushing the door to leave, they are actively helping and making conversation. Just one of those places where you don't mind spending your money.
I love to shop local, but this store has been in a continual decline since opening. The merchandise is a mess. More likely than not, items are all over the place in the wrong slots or hangers. Regular stock items are continually out of stock because either the wrong item is in its place or theft (shrink) without reconciliation of what's actually in the store.
Things off the top of my head that were out of stock or have not been restocked were
1. Electrical Boxes
2. 3/8 Condensate Line
3. Nuts, Bolts, Hardware etc.
Most employees try to be helpful but they don't have the right or adequate training. To the owner - this store desperately needs your attention to train employees on the practices necessary to keep customers coming back. You may want to have a team member that is wholly dedicated to stock reconciliation. I don't know- I don't run a retail business. These observations from the last 24 months.
Without any change, instead of coming here in the future, I'll save the 10 minutes coming in to the store only to be disappointed and keep going to the orange box, which is unfortunate because your ACE is less than 5 minutes from my house.
I came in at 10:15 AM on a Thursday. I needed some paint samples. Was told “the paint guy won't be back for an hour”. Train all of your employees to work the paint station or don't offer it as a service. My experience with other Ace locations is that multiple people know how to work the paint station. It shouldn't be dependent upon one person. That's just poor management and not customer focused. I'll pass on this location.
After having many extremely terrible experiences at Home Depot, I realized that going back to our roots as a country built upon Mom & Pop stores instead of Mega Corporations is the ONLY WAY we'll survive as a people instead of a number/non-human. CJ Potter treated me with dignity & respect that HD does not. I cannot praise CJ enough! I felt reassured that his Peoples Skills & exquisite Craftsmanship would help me with my dilemma that HD seemed not the least to even CARE to attempt to resolve. It took 5 minutes for me to even get a HD associate to show up, only to be told, much to my chagrin, that they couldn't do what I needed.
Even though I arrived frustrated & seemingly helpless just before closing, CJ effortlessly assisted me like NO ONE else had. He was able to resolve my issue in less time than HD could even get someone to show up to help me. Though this Ace Hardware is twice as far away as HD, I will definitely choose Ace over the Soulless Uncaring Automations inhabiting HD!
This young man surprised me & re-instilled within me the VALUES that I fought for as a Military Veteran. Some of the youth of this country seem not to CARE for the older generation such as me. CJ showed me the COMPASSION & UNDERSTANDING we so desperately need to grow strong as a REAL & TRUE nation of hard-working individuals. He is truly ONE-OF-A-KIND! If only others were like this bright young man.
Thank you CJ for rekindling my spirit. I have a renewed outlook & HOPE in your dedication & perseverance that so many are lacking. Keep up the Good Fight that our Founding Fathers began &, hopefully, we will be the great country once again that others only dream of being! He is most definitely a True & Genuine American. I cannot thank him enough.
