Drybar - Edina

I love the positive attitude of the Edina team! They display the Dyrbar "yellow, sunny" attitude and really try to create a great experience. Alejandro has been my go to and always does a great job, but when he is not available the other team members step up and really work to make sure I'm taken care of and leave happy. I've been a customer for about 2 years and have seen the team continue to strive as they have dealt with turnover and management challenges, which has been hard, and I think has contributed to some low reviews, but I would not rule them out and give them a try. Drybar is a great service and I wish them continued success in 2024!

I've always had a great experience at the Drybar - Edina. Beautiful salon, easy access and the stylists want to do an awesome job for you!!! If you have a weird hair thing (I have a horrible cowlick), let them know so they can work with it.

My recent experience at Drybar Edina fell short, primarily due to the service provider. Unfortunately, the service provider missed the mark on the booked add-ons, leading to an attempted charge at the front desk, and the overall service experience wasn't quite satisfactory. The hair-washing felt rushed, and the blow-drying was more on the casual side, like a DIY effort at home. Adding to the mix were some comments from the service provider about my hair, questioning its texture and uniqueness which felt a tad inappropriate it was enough to leave me feeling upset for about 70% of the service.

Walked out loving the way my hair turned out, but my hair was pin straight after 2 hours and I had to redo it myself for the event I was going to. My hair can normally hold curls for a long time. I’m not sure why it didn’t hold, maybe the products they use, but for $55 I’d expect the style to last way beyond 2 hours. Update: dropping to one star - it has been over a month and Drybar never reached out to me like they said they would. Pretty disappointing that they respond to reviews to appear accommodating but do not actually reach out to reviewers.

A friend suggested the Dry Bar to get our hair done the morning of my wedding, 1/14/2023. I read on the website for Drybar that styles took one hour with a braid, otherwise 45 min. There were many great reviews, so i was excited and hopeful. I arrived 20 min early (8:30 apt) with my daughter and was ecstatic they could start right away since I had a tight schedule before the ceremony. I had specifically said I have fine hair and that I wanted a small side braid to tuck in pins. The stylist who was assigned to me began working on my hair, and it was going well until the braid. First, she braided up on top of my head, and then it was pretty large and very frizzy looking. The manager was consulted after the stylist realized the positioning of the braid was not correct the first time. On the 3rd try of my hair, I requested the manager who came out and saw my tears, then listened and did my hair exactly how I wanted. A cute braid for my hair pins with the Southern comfort look. The manager apologized and told me her "stylists all have their different strengths...". I was too upset to ask why I was given someone who wasn't very skilled with braid styles. I never got a picture of how it looked. When I checked out, I saw it had been over 3 hours - 11:15 am. I was charged for a friend's hair when I said I was only paying for mine and my daughters hair, which I found out when the friend thanked me. Our ceremony was supposed to start at noon, but it was delayed 50 minutes even though i scrambled whole getting home and ready before going to the site. By the time I got married, all of the hairspray and product that had been put on my hair weighed my hair down to look flat and straight. My wedding was beautiful, and everything was perfect, but the experience at Dry Bar was incredibly disappointing. I would NOT recommend them for any special events or if you expect your hair to look a certain way. Attached is a photo of my husband and I after the ceremony.
