Drybar - Ann Arbor

I am a barfly member here and go twice a month. It’s such a relaxing experience each time. They offer everyone a drink upon arrival. I always get a mimosa. Yum! You select the style you want and then they wash and dry/style your hair. It’s great!

I purchased a gift card for my friend to come and get a blowout for her birthday. Unfortunately, the experience lacked a little and I work in reputation management, so I wanted to share some feedback that might help them with future first timers. My friend and I expected this to be an exciting treat yourself experience and it was lackluster for the cost ($70). She told the staff that it was her first time visiting and later shared that they didn't speak to her much, ask what she was looking for or show her the look book. In addition to that, she added the 10 minute scalp massage (which she paid for herself) and said she wasn't even in the washroom for 10 minutes. And unfortunately, she said her hair didn't look like it was blown out and instead looked more like she straightened it. She did fill out a survey at the end of the service and told me she was surprised they didn't respond, as her experience was fairly negative. I understand that things happen that might be outside of the Drybar staff's abilities, but one way they could have showed up a little more is with generally good customer service. The intent of this review is to hopefully help them, as the concept of what they offer is great.

I have been to many dry bars before and I was not pleased with my shampoo or my style. I should have said something while in there but I was not going to have the same stylist try again. Anyways disappointing for a treat yourself moment

So many good things to say about this salon. It's bright, clean and cheery. They make the selection of hairstyles a breeze by providing a book with photos to choose from. I have seen 2 stylists and both were GREAT. There's always a movie playing on their tv"s for your entertainment and you'll be offered a beverage upon your arrival. This is a fantastic business model as I had problems in the past getting a last minute booking in my salon for a wash and blowdry. When someone wants to give me a gift card, this is the card I ask for. Please give it a try.
