Designer Blinds & Shutters

Normally I would give Designer Blinds a great review, but I had them come measure my windows for the Allure Blinds in February and they gave me the quote, so I ordered blinds and they told me about 3 weeks. It's now well over 2 months later and I've heard nothing about my blinds. I've called several times and left voice messages, with absolutely no response. I was very excited about getting new Allure blinds, so I'm extremely disappointed with this kind of customer service. I guess I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

This review is overdue and rarely do I post about my gripes and complaints online but it would appear looking at the some of the previous posts that I too have fallen victim to the lack of communication. I called the store because I received a coupon from Valpak. The owner came to the house measured the windows and looked at what we had upstairs. We stopped by the store a few days later discovered that we could have the same shades we had installed upstairs from another provider. We were thrilled to keep the same look through the house. We loved the price and asked if we had to put any money down. The owner said no and that he would call in 3 or 4 weeks when they arrived to set up the install. That was April of 2021 I tried to maintain some composure with known global shortages, shipping issues, COVID. But I can' excuse the lack of communication from the business. If I was not calling or stopping in or harassing the business as to when the shades would show up or even if the things were ordered at all. I gave up communication in September or October of 2021. The last time I talked to the owner he said that stuff that was ordered about the time we placed ours was starting to show up at their showroom. The owner stated that he would probably be calling to install in a week or so. I have never heard from them nor have I attempted to make contact with them. I understand their prices may seem alluring as they were for my wife and I. I would caution against using them. Their reviews seem to be hit or miss, they mention the owner as John but I think that was the previous owner. I would not recommend using them for your shade or blind needs as you may be waiting months for something you are never going to get. when it comes to shades and blinds, the privacy in your home that they are designed to provide I would really think about whether or not the cost savings is worth the wait. I regret my decision to wait as long as I did to go to another provider.

Ordered blinds for all of my living room and kitchen windows. John came and took the measurements and sent me a quote I think later that day or the next day. Blinds arrived two weeks later and John came back and did a great job with the installation. He was super quick and cleaned up everything. I can't believe how much blinds can change a room - I wish I would have done it sooner. Need to save up to replace all of the bedrooms next - I will definitely use them again.

I found John at the shop and discussed my need for shades. I was pleased with the prices and John came to my house the following Monday to measure my windows. John agreed to call me within 2 hours with a price and to place my order. Then I never heard from him again! I left multiple messages and went to the shop twice but it was closed both times. I read some reviews and saw the BBB "F" rating and was glad to have dodged a bullet. Another blind installer will be here soon to measure.

Like others, if I could give less than one star I would. I saw a card of their in the Valpak and called as we needed 2 blinds. John came out promptly and I paid a $500 deposit for the blinds, on April 19, 2019. I was initially told they would be here and installed in 2 weeks. It's now June and the business will no longer return my phone calls. I've filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau and if there is no response from that, I will be taking them to small claims court. I wish I had read their reviews before choosing them. Better Business Bureau they have a D- rating. Do not hire them
