CAMA has been a powerful influence on my daughter's life. She started as a white belt at age 7 and earned her black belt at age 11 (youth rank). Now at age 15, she's in the adult classes working her way up the ranks. We are, of course, proud of her accomplishments but I can say with certainty her success is directly related to the support she has been given by her sensei's over the years. She stayed with jujitsu all this time because of the amazing instructors. She was encouraged when she struggled, she was guided when she was not focused (with needed sternness at times), she has felt accepted and recognizes that she belongs in the CAMA "tribe" every single moment she's been there. The folks at CAMA care about their students. The sensei's love what they do and they are exemplary role models. They are passionate about teaching the principles of kempo jujistu and the experience you gain in working with them will change your life. We are incredibly thankful that Roland, Laurel and the CAMA staff has been part of developing our daughter into the capable young adult she is today. You cannot go wrong by going with Colorado Academy of Martial Arts.
A relatively small school, Colorado Academy really has the family feeling you look for in a local business. The teaching is effective and individualized, focusing on self-defense and personal discipline and development. The staff always welcomes us by name, not only the student but siblings and parents as well. They're as excited for their students' advancement as we are, and really seem to care a lot. It's a great place to learn and hone traditional jui jutsu skills while building community and friendships at the same time.
What a great place for a kid to grow ,learn how to help others and increase their self confidence. Our son has been going to Colorado Academy of Martial Arts for over 4 years and it has helped him grow in so many ways. High marks for the staff and the owners.
Everyone from the staff to the students represent the highest level of professionalism and respect. The facilities are clean, and well kept. The compassion and care given to the children is top notch. Overall this is a great environment for children and adults to learn self defense, and gain confidence in everyday life.
You have just found a great Martial Arts school and you do not have to look any further. There are two systems (Jujitsu- unarmed and Arnis - armed) that you can learn and the two systems are very complementary of each other. I have over 10 years experience with Martial Arts and have trained in two systems and trained at many different martial arts schools. I started taking classes with CAMA just over 2 years ago and this is the best Martial Arts School I have had the privilege of attending. The staff is excellent and there are many trainers that have very high experience levels. The facility is excellent and the training schedule is very flexible for the working adult. Come in and take a few classes - you will be coming back for more.
