I walked through Central Mall in the Summer of 2021, as I was passing through Salina. It was pretty quiet in here. However, I did stop in Old Navy, Bath & Body Works, Books-A-Million and Robert Cowboy Outfitters, now that was an interesting store.
It’s hard to believe that Dunham’s Sporting Goods used to be Dillard’s. But with all kidding aside, Dunham’s is actually a great store, which can meet all your sporting good needs, or even just general apparel. Now, there’s NO longer JCPenney, which being said, if you live in Salina, and would like to shop there, you’d have to go to Wichita or Manhattan. Or on the other hand, if you don’t want to drive that far, you can just order online.
December 2023… I was in Salina for an event, and had some time to kill. I wondered through the mall and I was pleasantly surprised that there were a few folks in here. There was a beautiful Christmas Tree smack dab in the center, and I’m glad Santa was here. You could hear him Ho-Ho-Hoing all through the mall.
A place that used to be very fun and full of life, this mall is a dying place. Many empty stores and a vacant feel to it. Some good stores still remain, and the movie theater is fairly good, but for the most part it is a older mall just struggling to stay above water.
Decent size mall, a few good stores but not exactly that mall vibe. Barely any food locations and the movie theaters really needs an upgrade. I'm willing to donate money for it to happen. I love the movie theaters but these are missing the fundings.
Its a shame this place isn't as booming as it used to be. I love coming here for a quick little stroll and shopping trip. All the stores have nice workers, and are very clean. Its pretty nice for a quick snack grab as well.
Good movie theater and The District is an amazing place to take the whole family. Beats out similar establishments Ive visited in much larger cities like Phoenix AZ and Portland OR.
