CENTURY 21 Northland - Houghton Lake

April Marshall, is the best realtor! Granted she was my first one. But she helped buying my first house super easy! She went above and beyond to help and make sure everything got done. Very helpful! I honestly will choose her again if i ever decide to move, and i recommend her to everyone looking for a house in Houghton lake!

April Marshall was an absolutely amazing realtor!! Was always sending us homes within our budget. Or any questions we had she never took long to answer them. I am beyond thankful that we had her as our realtor. She definitely made our house hunting VERY smooth!!

I would recommend against the use of this office based on my experience. We made an offer on a home in Roscommon County. Karen Hill was the listing real estate agent from Century 21 Northland. When I received the proposed purchase agreement from Mrs. Hill not only were there many irregularities in the documents that I received, but the property was also clearly misrepresented. It described central heat which the property did not have. Further she inserted a dual agent agreement that she wanted signed making us contractually liable to use Century 21 Northland as our agent until June of 2021 which we did not request or agree to. Also, the fact that the property rights to the lake and dock usage were not properly revealed even though Mrs. Hill was aware that there was past and pending Litigation regarding the property since a neighbor in the subdivision provided her with the Court Order. I rarely provide a negative review knowing the impact it could have upon a business. Therefore, I left a message for both Brokers of Century 21 Northland, Mr. Todd Jansen and Mrs. Sandy Jansen and followed with a detailed email on February 12, 2021. Three weeks later and I have not received a response from them or the realtor, Karen Hill. Therefor I decided to leave a review for future prospective clients so they can go into the transaction knowing what to ask and look for and that they should read and fully understand the meaning of the documents prior to signing them. I was somewhat disappointed that the Brokers/Owners did not even care about responding.

I would actually like to leave a negative number of stars if it was possible. Do not use this real estate office unless you want unethical, unprofessional and shady dealings. We were interested in a property listed by this agency. We were in a bidding war and overbid by almost 4,000 on a property. We were told by our real estate agent the sellers (who were represented by Brittany Gass) had loved us and had accepted our offer. This was a conformation by email and text. We were so excited!! Only to find out that instead of accepting back up offers, after the property was promised to us, she let another party have a showing the next day and then to our disappointment, she told us they had accepted their offer as well. I know this happens, but I guess a handshake and a “done deal” via email and text isn’t good anymore. She had told us the sellers were signing the paperwork the next day and then sold it out from under us. Very unprofessional!! If you want a good real estate agency in Houghton Lake, I suggest you call Midge and Co. she just got an award for top real estate agent in Houghton Lake!!! She is wonderful, professional and trustworthy. DO NOT DEAL with Century 21. Unless, of course, you want to be misguided and mislead!! Reputation is what it’s all about and Brittany Gass has none in my opinion.

Do not use Karen Hill as your sales person, she is very unprofessional. I had to take my own pics of my home, wrote my own description of my home, had to reminder her numerous times that there was another person on my home that paper work needed to be done before we closed, she had over a week to get paper work done and at time of closing, still no paper work because she forgot. Also, she lies a lot, blames everyone else for her lack of getting things done, told potential buyers that I had a cash offer on my house, not once did she show my home. Do not use Karen Hill! I would like to rate her a -20 stars out of 10.
