My mom and I had the opportunity to come and get blow outs this morning. What an awesome experience. Essence gave me the best hair wash and I absolutely love my hair. Thank you for making me feel so special.
I went for a full hair and makeup package for a Christmas party. My coworker and I both had appointments at the same time. Her stylist, Brittany, was on time, skilled and efficient. My stylist was late to start and was still working on my hair by the time my friend was already done hair and makeup. I was not happy with the style and someone else basically finger combed my hair. When it came time for makeup, they took forever to get started and were extremely slow. We had asked to let us know when we could call an uber and they did not. Their computer wouldn't work so it took forever to pay and I was super late to our event. To top it all off, they were so rude about the situation. I'm still mad that I paid for the service and definitely won't be back.
My blowout fell out within an hour, however the service and conversation were amazing. Also my hair looked shiny and felt super healthy. I think the blowout falling out had more to do with my hair texture than the stylist’s skill.

I like my hair to be curled during the blowout but the back of my head was completely straight because the curls fell out from my hair still being somewhat damp. When I asked to come back in to have them re-curled they made the process difficult. I'm not going to be able to because of time constraints which is a bummer considering how much I spent to not even like the end result.
My recommendation to other customers is to make sure to grab a mirror and look at the back of your hair before leaving. If they don't do it correctly the first time you will be hard-pressed to get them to fix it.
Giving two stars for the nice girls who work in the front, but otherwise I was definitely blown away, just not in a good way. I booked an appointment for a Thursday during my lunch break, but what a bad idea that was! Being that it was my first time there and I went during lunch time, parking was extremely difficult to find. When I finally arrived, exactly 15 minutes after my appointment, I was politely told to either wait another hour or reschedule. While there is a disclaimer on the site that they may not hold an appointment longer than 10 minutes, it was disheartening that they have zero tolerance even for unforeseen circumstances. I realize everyone's time is valuable and customers can take serious advantage but I already was feeling quite horrible driving over 30 minutes (each way) to be met with circling parking lots and parking garages for 15 minutes. I was really hoping for some compassion, understanding, or anything positive? Nope, just left feeling icky about myself (and pale). Very unpleasant experience.
