I hate to give this place a mediocre review because Sydney (the manager) is very sweet and the stylists have been very nice to me which is why I always leave gratuity, even though my hair has been underwhelming on every visit. Unfortunately this is where all the pros end.
I signed up for a membership at the end of April, but what they did not tell me was that if you decide to cancel within the first three months, you will still be charged for a full three months of service. I had to find this out by reading reviews. Which this isn’t the worst part because you still get credits for what you paid for, but it just seems kind of sneaky in my opinion.
The really frustrating part about my experience at the blow dry bar is that I had initially expected the stylists to do a better job, curling and styling my hair that I could do myself since after all, they are professionals. The reality seems to be that if you have fine/thin hair that does not hold a curl well they don’t seem to know what to do with your hair in order to make the curls last for more than an hour. In June I decided to schedule an appointment to have my hair curled for a family photo shoot that I had scheduled that same day, and I was tempted to just curl my hair myself, but I figured since I’m paying for the membership, it would be nice to have a professional do my hair. This was the wrong answer. Whenever my appointments started, I told them I had photos that evening and needed my curls to hold while I was outdoors taking pictures so they would need to use a lot of hair spray as I have very fine hair that does not hold a curl well. About halfway through the appointment, I’ll look in the mirror, and I could see that the curls had already have fallen out so I told the stylist those curls will never hold, and she told me that she was going to redo them. And I said OK while I was sitting there I was so anxious because I really wanted my hair to look good for the photos. Then when the stylist was finished and I looked in the mirror, the curls did not look any different and I felt absolutely zero hairspray in my hair to help hold the curls in place. I was so upset in that moment, and I did not have time to say anything about how unhappy I was with the results because my photo shoot was in an hour. So I just left and went home to re-curl my hair. I I will attach a photo so you can see what my hair looks like while I was recurring it and how it looked after I curled it in the photos.
I went back to the salon today, because I still had a few credits left that I wanted to use before the expired, and yet again by the time I got in my car, my curls were half fallen out, and some of the strands were no longer curled at all. I really wanted to enjoy this service because as a busy mom it’s so nice to have some time to step away and do something for yourself but if you have hair that does not hold a curl well, save your money and go get a massage Because most likely your hair will look like it was never curled within a few hours MAX.
My low rating comes from my makeup experience . The staff was nice and welcoming and I loved my hair . However my makeup looked terrible and thick. It settled into all my fine line and wrinkles. It was clumpy and look terrible on my skin. This type of makeup would have worked in my 20’s but it did not work for my more mature skin. I mentioned all the lines and creases I saw and she just added more powder on top , which made it worse. I paid a lot for the makeup and ended up having to wash my face and do it myself .
I have had 3 experiences here and all were good! Most recently I had Brittany W. as a stylist and am back 8 days later for another appointment and I feel like my hair could even be find for another day or 2 :)
Went here for my first time a couple weeks ago to get a blowout the week before vacation and have another appointment today for an Olaplex treatment. They are very friendly and flexible with scheduling. The salon is quite clean and they also offer refreshments! Last time I went in I was offered water, soda, wine, or mimosa. Looking forward to continuing to use Blo for my hair styling needs!
We used Blo Fishers for prom hair and makeup. We received a text the day prior to appointment asking if we had inspiration photos. Appointment time was prompt and everyone was very nice. Will use again.
