My experience with Blo might not be like everyone else's, so I'm going to list it all in pros and cons
PROS
-Location is super clean and in a walkable area. Some parking is available directly outside, much more is available in free lots nearby.
-The atmosphere is chill, not too warm but not sterile and cold at all. They offer coffee and mimosas (if you're of legal drinking age) during your appointments and stylists are willing to talk or just work in silence depending on your mood.
-The prices are very reasonable, tools and product on hand are high quality, and the booking process is very simple and allows for a variety of add-ons depending on what your hair requires.
-They offer solid membership rates that rollover into the next month if you don't use them, as well as some group services (especially for parents and children)
CONS
Only really have one and that's my personal results. My stylist was very kind, patient and polite. We looked through a style booklet when I asked for curls in my hair, and decided on something called a "Beach wave." I'm a guy, went into this because I've never had waves in my hair or had it curled before and I was very curious to what it would look like. I was told my hair is fairly heavy, but with no frame of reference I'm not sure what that means regarding the process. Attached is a picture 4 hours after my service and my fiancee said she couldn't see a single curl in my hair at all even right after the service. Maybe this is just how my hair is? Genuinely not sure and a little confused. My hair feels very soft and luxurious nonetheless.
From the time I walked in to the time I left I had the best experience. I was having surgery the following day and wanted my hair braided to not worry about it for a few days. It turned out great and held up while I was in the hospital where I got many compliments. Thanks again!!
Has very nice workers and very nice in the salon. I loved my hair and she did just what u wanted and asked throughout if I liked it and made sure I wasn't thirsty or uncomfortable. Also kept the conversation going and was over all very welcoming, I also came a little early and they weren't busy so just started on my hair very fast. Over all loved it.
Went to get a blowout as the stylist were running a couple minutes late I didn’t mind as I get people can run a little behind. When getting my hair washed, the underneath of my hair wasn’t even washed she just put shampoo and didn’t lift my head up again to rinse. As for the blow dry, I left with my hair feeling so greasy and frizzy as well as still wet on my roots. When she said she was done I asked if she could dry the back of my scalp more but at this point nothing was helping. She had another client waiting after me as I didn’t want to sit and complain that I hated my blow out and now have to rewash my own hair after I paid. I never want to cause a scene but at the point my hair was… there was no fixing it without ruining the ladies appointment waiting to go after me. I’m not sure if she was new but I would suggest making sure the staff can do a basic round brush blow out before expecting a client to see them (as you can’t pick a stylist before coming).
The stylist and whole staff was so nice. Unfortunately I asked for a big 90s blowout. I reiterated volume and big hair multiple times. I left with long sleek shiny hair. My hair felt and looked nice but had zero volume. For $60 I expected more.
