I have been a satisfied customer of the Blo Blow Dry Bar for many years! This bar originated in Montrose and has recently relocated to The Heights, but it’s the same owners and same staff. Katherine has been a favorite stylist of mine. She is able to style my hair quickly and easily when others have been challenged. I always have lasting results with her. In the past 6 months, I have had great experiences with Gustavo as well. I am so glad to have found this bar and the consistency that they have provided over the years. I have tried other locations, but the stylists at this location have been able to meet my expectations.
I have been here 2x as I am just a visitor to Houston. I’ve had the pleasure of having my hair washed and styled by Jesse. He gives a superb wash and perfect blow dry. I have a lot of textured curly hair and he handles it like a pro! Highly recommend Blo and specifically Jesse!
I have been coming to blo for 8 years as a loyal customer. Of lately their service has desperately been slipping and I will no longer be returning. There have been several occasions where I have asked for a specific look and it is not executed as requested. At one point I had a hairstylist facetiming someone during my shampoo/conditioning and head massage. The last straw for me was today. I had booked a dry-style with clip in extensions added on for my maternity pictures. I had scheduled my own makeup and photography as well. When I booked my appointment two months prior to my appointment I requested a specific artist to be with me as I am comfortable with them and their work. I confirmed last week that I would have the artist. I called today 3 days before my apppintment to be only be told the artist was booked with someone else and to change my time. I requested to speak to the manager and they said the same thing. I requested to have the owner Katie call me at some point today. None the less, I cancelled as loyal customers are not a priority. They promise and do not deliver. I do not recommend going here as the business is ran vastly different than compared to in the previous years.
If I could select zero stars I would based on customer service alone. I made an appointment this morning for which I received no email confirmation and made an honest mistake missing the appointment when I thought it was for 12:30 instead of 11:30. I called and spoke with Steven who said there was nothing he could do about the charge. I asked for a manager just to voice my concerns as this was my first time booking at this location and he said he was they would tell me there was nothing they could do either. When I asked again, he then said he was the manager and became short and rude with me. He said he’d waive the 65.00 charge but my bank account was charged for that amount. I called to verify why that amount and my calls were screened and not answered. They begin to send them directly to voicemail. I have never been treated like I wasn’t a human being who could make a mistake and I would never treat a potential customer this way. I understand policies but exceptions can be made as I honestly didn’t realize the error. Really hurt by this and won’t be visiting Blo Blow Bar again.
Vivian and Susan are AMAZING. They clean your scalp and it feels actually clean. Other dry bars have never washed my hair properly. This place knows what they are doing and how to work with your hair to make it look good.
