Alaska Bear Adventures

We booked 6 months in advance and the Gods were in our favor! Our guide/pilot Alec was kind knowledgeable and patient! As soon as we landed we were greeted by a mama bear and 3 cubs. The weather was beautiful 60 and sunny! Definitely plan your trip according to fish run schedule! Eat before you go as NO food on the trail, food can be stashed in food cache at Ranger station. Also was a little buggy so I recommend a bug net, not sure bug spray did anything. We highly recommend Alaska Bear Adventure!

This was by far the best experience I had in my 10 days in Alaska. It is pricey, but it's definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Within 5-10 minutes of walking we had 2 bears walk right in front of us and moments later we were 20 feet away from a momma bear fishing for her adorable two cubs. AJ was our pilot/guide and he was knowledgeable, respectful, and a joy to talk to. I never felt unsafe the whole time even with bears a few feet from us. When the trip on the ground was over, there was one other cool surprise, on the way back, we flew right next to the active volcano and got to see the vent that was creating all the steam above the glacier right next to the bay where we walked around. Everything about the experience was amazing. I would wear water resistant clothing, you do hike around in some deep mud, so warmth was no problem for me, but definitely dress in layers depending on weather!

This was truly a once in a lifetime day. Landing on a remote beach in Katmai was so much better than fighting people for a view at Brooks Falls. Zach was an amazing pilot and super knowledgeable about the park, the bears and many other things. It was a magical day!!!

What an unexpected amazing adventure. The flight over to Karmai was beautiful. Had a blue bird day and was able to fly through the mountain passes. Landed on the the beach and got to walk with in 40 feet of over a dozen brown bears. AJ our pilot was a world class guide to the bears. Flight back was just as scenic. Definitely a complete experience from wheels up to wheels down.

FANTASTIC!!! We thoroughly enjoyed our flight to Katmai, and had a blast observing the bears! Alaska Bear Adventures was the right choice; they took great care of us, and every staff member was friendly and knowledgeable!
