Mountain Strong Thornton Gym

I've been a member at Mountain Strong for two months and it's the best gym experience I've ever had. The coaches care, teach you and push you to your limits. There is a place for everyone: Crossfitters, Climbers, and anyone willing to push themselves to be better. Wouldn't want to call any other gym home!

The community that Mountain Strong has been able to cultivate is wonderful. With many conditioning gyms, it sometimes can feel intimidating but not here. The coaches and owners make you feel part of their family. The members are open, friendly, and the best part, encouraging. The environment here allows your training to feel fun, that's the sweet spot in my opinion. Moving to Colorado and now been here for 2 years, 90% of my friends are from here. The gym always has phenomenal clinics to work on all types of things. From breathing, to climbing knots, to getting your rowing form perfect. They're always getting the community together for fun workouts followed by a relaxing  BBQ after. I can write on and one but this place is truly magical. I am so grateful for the connections and life long friends that I have made. This has everything to do with the coaches and owners who have dedicated themselves to creating a place where your health and training can be a happy adventure. Don't get it twisted, they bring it and you will get your pump on but in a fun way.

The is the best gym I have ever been a member of. The coaches and other members are very supportive, encouraging, and helpful. I first started attending the gym as part of their seasonal Ski Conditioning class. When I began working out, an empty barbell was my workout weight, which made it intimidating to watch serious athletes workout around you. However, nobody judges or cares how much you can lift. Everyone is just happy to see people show up and work hard. I can highly recommend Mountain Strong!

I have been going to Mountain Strong since December and have enjoyed the challenge of the classes and the feeling of community that the gym offers. I really appreciate the knowledge and professionalism of the staff, and although I am newer to lifting, they have been patient and provided excellent feedback. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a gym that is just as passionate about fitness, health, and the outdoors!

Best gym I’ve ever joined. The coaches and community make the difference. From a coaching perspective, technique and safety come before performance. The coaches care more that you don’t get hurt than any other nonsense. The community, while friendly, pushes you to do your best. I’ve seen more gains in the last year than from any other competitive workout program.

Tula Hot Yoga Denver

Tula is an absolute gem in our community! The atmosphere of this studio is warm and inviting, and the instructors are not only incredibly skilled but also genuinely caring. I initially signed up for an introductory month, and the experience was so transformative that I quickly became a member.

The hot yoga sessions have been a total game-changer for me. The instructors provide unique cues that have not only helped me build strength but have also added exciting nuances to each posture. My fiancé, who has had persistent lower back problems for about thirteen years, absolutely glows about how much these classes have relieved his back pain! We've also tried Tula's heated pilates class and we're hooked, it was incredible too!

Tula is more than just a yoga studio; it's a community where we've found joy, peace, and a sense of belonging. I highly recommend Tula to anyone looking for a cozy and friendly space to explore and deepen their yoga practice.

I love this studio!! Best Bikram/Hot yoga in Denver IMO. I really appreciate instructors who can guide you and not just regurgitate a script. There’s definitely a sense of community at this studio and I highly recommend if you like hot yoga or are interested in trying it out. Shout out to Nancy for an amazing class and somehow memorizing everyone’s names, even new people 🤯

I’ve tried a few different styles of yoga over the years, but never hot. The heat can make even the simplest movements pretty intense. In the traditional Hot 90 classes, I still struggle to get through the whole series of poses without resting, and that’s ok because it still feels good, especially afterward. In addition to the Hot 90 and Hot 60 classes, Tula also offers Earth Ways and Pilates in a 90 degree room, as opposed to 105, which I really enjoy. The classes are longer than I’m used to but I leave feeling reset and re-centered. All of the instructors have been really kind and welcoming too.

I love Tula. I feel very fortunate being able to practice in this space.  I  appreciate that Tula has showers in the studio so I can fit in my practice before meetings.  A great place to leave the busy world behind for 60 or 90 minutes.

I enjoyed my 60 minute hot yoga class led by Kaitlyn. The studio is nice and they keep the space clean. I will be back again!

Colorado Springs Fit Body Boot Camp

I have been very active my whole life, from surfing to downhill mountain biking as well as a daily gym routine etc. I think I am a tough critic since I need a workout where I feel completely satisfied. I really can’t believe that in 30 min Jenn and her crew will take you through the custom workout routine they deliver daily, and you will have results. Really I am serious you will. All you need to do is actually show up and it will happen. Jenn and her crew of trainers show you the correct modifications if you are unable to do the intense version of the specific workout. However people like me who love to go, go, go this class is also for you. I have gone to so many gyms done so many cross fit classes and was not all the way convinced to sign up. I have canceled my gym membership so many times because it just wasn’t the whole package of what I was looking for, plus if I tried doing my own routine similar to what Jen is teaching I would be either in the way of other members or they would be in my way, believe me I have tried all this well before I knew about Jen’s Fit Body class. I even thought I could do it on my own at home but I would get interrupted or distracted. Jen Ritcher Fit Body Classes are addicting, supportive, educational, and so fun. The facility is super clean and I have met great people that are again just super supportive. I have lived in many places and have been to many gyms and I would say I have very high expectations and this place for me is off the hook awesome! If you are reading this review you have to just come to class and show up and you will be so stoked too!

Fast-paced HIIT work-out, fun atmosphere, Jenn and her instructors are great and motivational and most of all, it's different every day!  I love it!!

Rooted Heart Yoga and Wellness

This is the best and most inclusive studio in the neighborhood. The owner and staff have always been so professional, kind, supportive and involved with their community.

I want to personally thank the owner of the studio who went over and above to open her heart and space to anyone and everyone who might want to meditate for peace and donate to the children of war. Not many small business are so generous and inclusive at this time and the kindness and bravery of that gesture, even in the face of harassment and unfair claims made by those who don't seem to understand peace, was a stellar move from a top notch studio. Pure representation of our town's love for each other.

Rooted Heart is true community and I'm proud of them.

This is not an inclusive or welcoming yoga studio. I practiced there for the last couple of years and have gone to many of their events. I reached out about my concern around an event they were hosting to support Palestine and how it seemed like they are choosing to take a side in this very sad and devastating war. I don’t feel safe as a Jewish person going there. Their response was extremely dismissive and did not address my concern. Their compassion for others is self-selective. Asking someone to condemn Hamas’ terror attack is a pretty low bar, and they couldn’t even do that.

Some of the classes and teachers are really lovely and some are pretty underwhelming and bordering on seeming like they do not want to be there. The upstairs studio space is really cool. All different types of people come to these classes and I really love that.

I cannot say enough about Rooted Heart and specifically my favorite teacher there, Rachel. Rachel's class on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays is amazing. She has so much knowledge to offer in so many ways. Subtle positioning recommendations, thoughts, and even guided breath support (when to inhale and when to exhale) help me really sink into my own practice. Her classes are an amazing mix of nourishing and also challenging. My own practice has steadily improved with her support and knowledge. She made me fall back into love with the ritual of a yoga practice and I am so grateful to her and Rooted Heart.

Rooted Heart is such a special space! I told myself for years I needed to stop in and when I finally did, it  quickly became one of my favorite places to spend time. The teachers are all amazing and each have their own unique style that I had never experienced at larger more corporate studios. They are well versed in more traditional yoga practices and have a lovely way of incorporating it into their classes. I just completed my 200 hour YTT here and couldn't be happier to have learned from some of the very best yogis in Denver! If you're looking for a studio that has a special community feel, I highly recommend RH.

Vibes in Color Podcast

I was looking for a new experience in a yoga studio and Urban Sanctuary delivered. I took a yoga class lead by Kryss and it was such a nourishing and healing class! He integrated Internal Family Systems which I have never experienced before but I absolutely needed at the time. I left feeling so grounded and nourished. I really think they're onto something here. I've taken a myriad of yoga classes around Denver but there hasn't been an experience this valuable. The space itself is such a grounded and calm place with plants all around. There is free parking around the building and easy to find which I really appreciated. The atmosphere is inclusive for people from all walks of life. I look forward to taking more classes here!

My favorite space in Denver to practice yoga, by far.

I have taken perhaps 50 classes here over the last couple of years with a variety of different teachers; James S, Soraya, Soly, Katie T, Shanté, Ali. Everyone brings their own unique style, presence and skills to the classes they teach. My favorite thing about the studio is that there is NO ego and you don’t feel like you’re at a commercial space being compared to others like CorePower or other gyms in the area. It’s about mind and movement. I true gem in the city.

The energy at Urban Sanctuary is filled with peace and love. I love the unique classes and workshops like Naked Yoga, Tarot and Flow, Reiki and a monthly Sound Bath. As a person of color this is a safe haven from the usual designer-yoga-tights crew. I highly recommend.

Urban Sanctuary is a diamond in the rough. This yoga studio elevates BIPOC voices and perspectives and creates access for all. From their variety of classes and engagements to partnerships within the community. This studio is like no other and the classes are set in a beautiful historic building, rich with history and life! The offer cold soaks, aerial, naked, flower power, tapping and Kemet yoga. You won’t find another studio like it and the welcoming vibes and energy will keep you coming back!

After only attending one class with Shanté this morning I had to write a review. This yoga studio has such a warm and refreshing atmosphere. I am so excited to have found this yoga studio and love the energy here. It is so nice to find a place that has such unique types of classes and incorporates aspects of spirituality into them. Much needed in Denver! 

Adventure Fitness Athletic Club

The end of my long and frustrating search for a gym with a great atmosphere and classes ended when I came to check out Adventure Fitness. Their equipment far surpassed expectations, the staff is incredibly nice and great at training. They also have equipment that I've never even heard of before, and that was a pleasant surprise. It comes complete with cryotherapy options and hydro massage. They even have beautiful private bathrooms with nice showers!

AFAC is awesome! The classes are great with plenty of options to choose from daily. The coaches are  amazing, knowledgeable,  experienced and work with you to make your experience the the best it can be. AFAC has the latest and greatest equipment available for classes and for you to use anytime you are at the gym.  You need to visit them to appreciate what a great gym it is. It is not a big box gym,  it is not a CrossFit gym it is a hidden gem!!

I might consider myself a novice gym expert. As a traveling housesitter this summer we have had so many short term gym memberships I cant count them all. This is a great aspect of seeking out locally owned gyms or certain franchises; flexibility in membership.
Adventure Fitness fits this bill to a perfect T!

Dont fall for the $10.00 a month non-commital sea of purple when you want to take your body seriously. Find a gym like Adventure Fitness and here's why:

Susan the owner treats you like family and is flexible in offering us a short term membership rather than expensive day use passes.

Find a gym like Adventure Fitness that is so clean you could eat off the floor.

Adventure Fitness has 100% plus of every type of equipment any gym goer desires.

Adventure Fitness gets an A+ in my book, and I envy the people in Thornton who can go here all of the time.

Adventure Fitness has so many workout areas we can spend a month in there and probably never get to use everything available.

There is a personal touch here you are not going to find at any other gyms, from delicous waters, hydromassage, cryotherapy, classes, good music, ameneties, shower, and so much more.

Find a gym like Adventure Fitness that isnt overcrowded and stuffy.

Get a membership now, and use it. Support your local gym and spread the word.

This gym is awesome, it really gives a home gym vibe. All of the equipment is top of the line. Every person there is respectful. Would highly recommend to any gym user, new or vet!

So many good things to say about AFAC. Definitely one of Thornton's best kept secrets. For one. This gym is so well-kept and very clean and sanitary. The staff is very helpful, friendly and treats you like family. So many different varieties of workout classes available. And literally every piece of equipment you can think of. Thank you Susan and Mike for all that you do! Love my gym!!

Samadhi Yoga Sangha

We're regular members of Samadhi and find the quality of instructors and types of yoga classes offered to be both excellent and consistent. Samadhi offers many types of yoga for all manner of people, and is a great attribute to Denver to have such a collection of quality instructors.

The best studio I’ve found in Denver. Yoga is taken seriously here as a mind, body, spirit practice. The teachers here are fantastic and aren’t afraid to offer hands on assistance!!

This is the BEST studio in the entire Denver area. If you are looking for a deep, authentic practice and a genuine and expressive community to journey alongside, Samadhi Yoga Sangha offers a beautiful, tranquil and authentic environment to play, heal and grow in. Every teacher is incredibly knowledgeable and excessively well-trained. Cannot recommend this studio enough - would give 10 stars if possible.

What an amazing studio and community!

I was traveling in Denver and decided to check out this space.  As soon as you enter, you are greeted warmly by reception (love you Shea!)  and immediately notice the peaceful ambiance.  The classes are varied - everything from power to something more restorative / gentle.  The teachers are caring, knowledgeable, and experienced.

The idea of Sangha (a community of like minded people working together and supporting one another) is very strong in their space, I found.  However, it is not exclusive, and everyone is made to feel included and authentically welcomed as they are.

This space reminds me of my own back at home, and I wouldn’t hesitate to visit again!

Action Academy

I have a gym I usually go to on the other side of town when I visit, but I needed something closer to my AirBnB this time.  Action Academy showed up on my search, I gave them a call and Tia was very helpful.  I typically use free weights when I’m traveling as I know I can’t usually stay on my normal routine.  I can tell you everything you need is here mixed with amazing hospitality!   I would give them more stars if I could.  Being a small gym owner myself, I love being able to support others in the same industry when I can and it’s even better when they take pride in what they do.

This place is  24 hours and it’s accessible via a secure key that they program for you.   If you are looking at this review, stop looking for other places and call Tia now.

I love this gym. I have been coming here for about a month now and the equipment is in really good condition as well as the facility! I had reached out to the owner to fix a focal point in my back that was hindering some of my movements and she was able to see me on quick notice☺️ my back has never felt better, she immediately found the trigger point and then OBLITERATED it 🤘🏽🥹 I cried my first tears since I was born, I feel like I’ve been touched by an angel 😇 I will ALWAYS be coming to action academy for anything regarding my body! They have a Fit3D machine, that gave me better insight as to how to achieve my goal… highly suggest!✌🏽

Action Academy is a great, comprehensive gym focused on provided the best experience to their members as possible. The staff is mind-blowingly knowledgeable and attentive to any questions. Any type of routine you follow, they’ve got the space and equipment for you! All the members I’ve met have been friendly and considerate too. I can’t recommend it more.

AA is a top notch spot. It's the first gym where I tried power lifting and every single member was kind and supportive. The staff were all helpful as well. Owners are kind and understanding but willing to put down their foot to problems.

Hate that I have to leave, but if I come back to the springs I'll be signing up again immediately.

While living in Colorado, I went to Anytime Fitness, Planet Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, and finished at Action Academy. It is clean, 24 hours, has plenty of equipment, various classes, assistance with recovery and so much more. The owners are wonderful as are the trainers. Since the gym isn’t a giant area, it easy to get to know other members. Everyone I had met was friendly.
I’ll miss going to Action Academy now that I moved out of state. The people, price, and product were all wonderful. Couldn’t recommend this place more.

Black Swan Yoga Denver Capitol Hill

It would be nice if the website was more specific about which locations do not have a lobby. It was a bit jarring to walk straight into the studio my first time.

The first few classes I attended were great. I attempted to go to a class recently. When I signed up it was about 15 people which was perfect, and as I got settled more and more people showed up, and soon enough it was nearly 30; it felt very crowded. With everyone talking it was a major sensory overload so I got up and left.

It would be nice to have some sensory friendly classes that max out at like 15 people.

Great yoga studio with a friendly community. Shoutout to Willow for always making the classes feel personalized and special.  You can tell she cares about the community and puts effort in every class to not only challenge you but make it FUN. :-)

The best yoga studio in Denver. All the teachers are amazing. The atmosphere is inviting and accepting. A great place for someone who is a little nervous about starting yoga. Only con is the classes are very crowded

First and foremost most Black Swan Yogis are amazing. Sadly I’ve had several poor experiences here.
1.  A couple classes of 100% N word & misogynistic songs was totally offensive
2. They were incapable of canceling automatic payments.  Took 6 emails to straighten out
3.  Had an undisclosed grievance about me which they were never able to explain and lied about source
4. Upper management and owner Aubrey Marcus team failed to mediate situation.  Ironic considering Aubreys take on justice in the world

Love this studio! Beautiful, curated space, great playlists, lightly heated classes, good teachers… everything you need to have a great class.
