Denver Yoga Underground

I recently completed Denver Yoga Underground’s 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. I would highly recommend it to those looking for teacher training that covers much more than how to teach the asanas and those who want to do some self-discovery.

Derik is a very knowledgeable, experienced, and supportive teacher. He created a comprehensive program that includes yoga philosophy, Ayurveda, and teaching, in addition to a safe environment. As a program graduate, I can now create and offer yoga lessons starting with a dharma talk, moving through a well-designed sequence, and concluding with pranayama and meditation. I am grateful for the teachings of Derik, Beth, Tushta and Linda and appreciate the amazing community I bonded with over three months.

I would highly recommend this program to anybody who is interested in not only teaching yoga but also in discovering more about yoga philosophy, history and ayurveda. Derik is very knowledgeable and patient with the students and all the other presenters were also very accessible and interesting. I thank Denver Yoga Underground for this truly unique and life changing experience!

You’re probably looking at these reviews because you want a holistic YTT program and not just a corporate, fitness-based program, and if so, I can assure you that you’ll find this at DYU. Derik and the other instructors are highly experienced and most importantly interested in yoga as a whole concept, (including Ayurveda, pranayama, yoga theory, supporting literature, etc.) and not just the asanas.

I’ve been in the 200 hour YTT program at Denver Yoga Underground for the past four months & graduated just yesterday. The community with fellow trainees was an unexpected bonus of this training and I will forever cherish this experience. I’d recommend this program to anyone as I believe it’s an incredible foundation for aspiring yoga teachers.

DYU is a deep look into everything Yoga is and is not. This program will change the way you look at things in life for the better. I originally came to the YTT because I wanted to teach yoga, but then I learned that teaching is one very small part of yoga. Either way, I feel equipped to be a competitive teacher on the job market because of this program. I was pushed to look at the importance of being intentional when representing yoga. I am very grateful for Derik and Beth who lead this transformation.

I came to Denver Yoga Underground to complete a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. I can honestly say this is the perfect school for people wanting a holistic educational experience while learning a practical set of skills that prepare you to teach yoga in your community.

StretchLab

All stretch coaches have been top notch, but Richard is the one I see most consistently. He is very attentive, knowledgeable, experienced, and kind. I always leave feeling better…and taller! My weekly sessions are a big part of my self-preservation routine. Highly recommend.

Lisa was fantastic! Even though we only had 25 minutes and I had to run out of there due to another commitment, she really took her time with my problem areas..I felt immediate relief and I could have stayed there a lot longer

Sedona was amazing and so playfully charismatic. I gained insight on my body mechanics, located tight muscles zones and some tricks for at home stretching goodness. They require you bring grip bottom socks or purchase one of their pairs for $15. It's an open community style space with other stretching efforts and after the session the receptionist offered a package of offerings based on Sedona's findings. I greatly respect the benefits of stretching often, the pitch did feel slightly commission driven. Thankful to have found this amazing addition to my self care routine!

I have made a weekly visit to StretchLab a priority. Richard Warner can tell immediately where I need work when I walk in and has special healing powers. Richard has spent his life working in health & wellness and fitness; I feel like I benefit from every interaction. Specifically, I am sleeping better and my squats (back, front, and overhead) have improved in technique and weight moved. I can also touch my toes :)

As a beginner to yoga, as well as being a plus sized woman, it’s been a challenge for me to find a yoga studio that is accommodating, accepting, and had true entry level classes. Well my experience at Inner Light was just that! I felt very comfortable, and had a great time. The team of instructors are awesome. I’m definitely coming back! 100% recommend to ANYONE whether you are experienced and looking for classes to take you to the next level or if you’re like me and you’re new to yoga.

You know how some spaces just feel *good* to be in? This is one of those places; the energy is wonderful. Inner Light’s instructors are warm, attentive, unpretentious, and highly skilled. An array of classes are offered, each uniquely beneficial.

Such a wonderful yoga & wellness center for folks in Denver! This yoga studio is a hidden gem and provides some of the best yoga in Denver with lots of varied classes ranging from vinyasa and restorative to hatha and even ashtanga! Very impressed by the friendly teachers and the super convenient neighborhood location is another major plus. They take yoga seriously here, but you still get reasonable prices and a fun connection to your own inspired and creative movement. Cheers!

Colorado Fitness Headquarters

Life changing! I love this place and the people!! Try a Brewery Boot Camp at one of the breweries or the headquarters location. I do both weekly. The gym at headquarters is one of a kind. You will not regret it. I can't express how life changing it was for me. Thank you Paul and Lindsey!

Come for a great workout, leave with great friends. They have workouts that are great for all levels and all of the trainers are super friendly. Check out their classes at different breweries around the Denver area every weekend and earn your beer.

Excellent brewery boot camp workouts that are extremely challenging but modifiable for any level. Paul and Lindsay are outstanding trainers who have built a strong community sharing craft beer and fitness.

Finished my trial week of unlimited classes for only $10 and I have to say this is the BEST studio.
When I first walked in I was greeted by one of the owners, Lindsay, and her adorable pups. She gave me a quick tour before I joined a spin class with Rene. I have been spinning for over 7 years, primarily at home since COVID and such, and it was so good to be back in a studio again. The studio, the choreography, the music, and Rene ... it was all amazing!
I also attended a brewery bootcamp (yay beer) as well as two bootcamp classes with the other owner, Paul, who kicked. my. @$$. The classes are challenging but they modify to acommodate all levels of fitness.
More than the quality of the classes are the quality of people (and pups!). The owners and instructors know their clients personally and create a wonderful community you can't help but want to be a part of.
Now that my trial week is over (and I get over the current cold of death I am dealing with - thanks kids)... I am looking forward to joining this community and plan on getting in the best shape of my life. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend doing the trial week if you are even slightly considering it!

P.S. bonus option is the kids room! You can coordinate your workouts and have somewhere for your kiddos to play :)

Planet Fitness

I absolutely love this gym. It’s made such a positive impact on our lives. The staff are always a treat to see during the week. They are uplifting and and work so hard to make the gym welcoming, clean, and a place that motivates you. The manager takes her job very seriously and cares so much about everyone who walks in that door. Would give 10 stars if I could.

I go @ 0430 and 1600 5 days a week and 3 times a day on my 2 days off. It's a good place to exercise and get pumped for the rest of the day. I'm retired Army and I gained 50 pounds after getting out. In 2 months I lost the 50 lbs and feel great. Diet and exercise 💪.  Thank you planet fitness.

I've been going 4 times a week for the last several weeks.
Staff has been friendly and helpful every visit.
The place is clean, and the equipment is in good working order with the exception of one machine that is out of commission [I don't know how long it normally takes to get a machine repaired].
I see lots of one star reviews, but my recent experience has been good.
My only complaint is they are not 24/7 on Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

I wanted to give a shoutout to Madison for her awesome customer service today, i was having issues getting my bank account information submitted which took many attempts and a good bit of time as well. Yet Madison was very helpful and patient with me and she even solved my problem for me! Above and beyond work and greatly appreciated! Most people today working customer service would have told me they couldn't help me, Madison took it upon herself to make sure i was taken care of and made me feel very comfortable and welcomed. Madisons strong work ethic and personal skills shine bright, she is definitely succeeding great in life!

For the past 4 months I have been going to Planet Fitness here in the Colorado Springs.. It's been a source of strength and healing dor as a former Marine, and LEO and Emergency Medical Tech. Truly awesome staff and great place to connect with follow Veterans as well. Just all around superb. Especially Planet Fitness of Airport Road.    And when you turn 60 as I have its best to work out, because it beings to droop.... 😂

Burn Boot Camp

I love this gym so much!! The trainers are awesome and I love having 45 min to myself to workout while my 4 year old is in child watch! Renae, the owner is incredible and will answer any questions!! This is seriously the best gym!

Decided to join Burn Boot Camp Bentonville was, so far, the best decision that Is made. For the first time in my whole life, I feel motivated and happily go to the gym everyday!

I’m so happy with this gym. I started my membership this summer, after having not worked out for a couple of years. I immediately felt welcomed and excited to be apart of this gym. The trainers are all incredible, the workouts are all different and challenging everyday and the gym is very nice.

I really thought I would try a free week and move on but this place is great. The workouts are challenging, the trainers are encouraging and always push me to my limits. The women that workout here are tough and it is so fun to do it together. Come and try it!

Burn is so much more than a gym. Burn is a community of people looking to better themselves and support others. The trainers are phenomenal and always there to help you. I joined to get in shape but soon learned that what I needed was the support to better my mental health. I am the strongest and happiest I've ever been!

The J Street Gym

Nobody is looking for some “country club” experience lol, but this gym is a literal pos for what you charge. Won’t be paying the random 90 some bucks when it’s supposed to $68 a month, I’ll just go with a friend who has been letting me in. It’s not a hardcore anything and several machines are constantly broken. With as much as you charge, you should be able to afford to replace parts of machines that you claim to have as functioning. You should also be able to afford to pay for someone to oversee childcare instead of just a family friend. I was told if “we could find anyone to work those hours for children, we would hire someone” then I told multiple people who inquired about that and weren’t hired even though they had ample childcare experience. So you’re evidently not looking to hire for that role. Just don’t lie to your customers then. Pretty simple lol. The holes in the flooring throughout, the bathroom having rusted stalls, damage, etc. I do handyman work and renovations on homes, so I get dirty daily, but to have a trashed pos gym like you guys do and pretend it means you’re “hardcore🥴” is a joke lol. It’s not even remotely a hardcore gym, and I’ve been in plenty of actual hardcore gyms. Stop with the false advertising of being hardcore. You’ve not made good use of your space by any means and you don’t have working equipment and you guys should stop lying about your equipment supposedly working when half of it doesn’t. Such a waste of space having broken equipment on the floor, doing nothing about it.

Ya need to do better. It’s embarrassing at this point and I’ve talked with several people who used to go there and now don’t or due to the same issues. I now tell people in groups I’m in to avoid this gym at all costs. Luckily they listen because I’ve got the pictures as proof. Have a good day and hopefully you’ll work towards doing better.

I had a great experience here. Bought a day pass while visiting from out of town. The space is huge, and they have every machine you can imagine

this is a proper gym, the fullest most well stocked gym in the area, priced accordingly. This place also smells like a gym, dont expect a spa. Brians run this gym pretty freaking well

Perfect knuckle dragger gym. Traveling and bought a 1 week pass for $30. Great deal.  Just check in with your cell also awesome, I don’t want to fill out stuff at 5am. No matter what you are into, as long as you are into working out, this place has it. It is the kind of place that I would want to open with a bunch of buddies. Not a country club feel, so that is nice. I wish they had a place like this back home. Not all the weights are glossy, and the kettlebells are dinged up. This place is broken in. Check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

$50 a month for holes in the floor? I walked in the door and literally got chunks of rubber in my shoes from the destroyed rubber mats. No good place to do anything core, nowhere good to stretch without getting covered in dirt. They only have one or two adjustable benches that are constantly cluttered with groups of highschool kids taking selfies in the mirror and the pads on their equipment are ripped to shreds. Everybody talks about how fantastic this gym is but my experience was anything but.

Whole Body Studios- Pilates, barre, & yoga

The studio is beautiful and clean. I love their class options since I struggled to find a studio that could accommodate my schedule. The instructors are knowledgeable, kind, and engaging. Well done!

I absolutely love Whole Body Studios! I took one pilates class and immediately signed up for a membership. I love the vibe, cleanliness and ultra friendly staff! I am new to pilates, but am so happy to have found a space where I feel comfortable learning new things with awesome instructors.

I have tried many barre studios and Whole Body is the best! The instructors are incredible- Jess gives an absolute killer barre class. I can’t recommend this studio enough!

This place is awesome! I have done several reformer Pilates classes here (and a barre virtual class) and have loved them! The individual focus and variety in each class is exactly what I was looking for.

I really like this studio. The instructors are knowledgeable and friendly. The owner (I think she must be the owner) is always very kind, and quick to email if I need help with something. The one feedback item I have is that I don’t prefer the credit structure at workout studios. It makes it more difficult for me to figure out a monthly regularity that makes sense for me.

CrossFit Northwest Arkansas

An outstanding experience! I attended for the first time and Travis the coach was there to welcome me and ensure I received professional instruction. This is a great place to start over if you haven’t exercised in years like me. They have my appreciation.

One of the absolute best Crossfit gyms I've ever been a part of. Highly skilled and trained coaches along with all the equipment you would ever need to do all things Crossfit. I've hit all my PRs here!
The owners are not only professional, kind and generous, but they take it upon themselves to provide the absolute best experience to their members every single day. I highly recommend not only attending but joining!

I joined the Gym 2 years ago when I moved to the area and since day 1 the coaches & the community were very welcoming!. Coaches are super supportive and always finding ways to help challenge yourself to get whatever your goals is. Coach JT and Lee were there for my 1st Ring Muscle up, Coach Evan taught me how to link BMUs, and the ultimate best Coach Travis who stopped working out once during a "Open Gym" session to go and coach me lifting!!

I was very hesitant to start CrossFit as it has a reputation for being very intimidating. CrossfitNWA is far from that; it is a welcoming and safe space to grow for all levels of fitness. All the coaches and members are beyond supportive of everyone's fitness journey. I want to give a special shout-out to coach Jennifer Thomas; She takes the time to know each member and helps them achieve their personal goals; Her motivation and passion for CrossFit are contagious. In addition, I think she has the best playlist hands down.
You will not regret joining !!

I have been Crossfitting for 8+ years, and I have visited many boxes across the country. Just as others have mentioned, the coaches here do a great job watching and correcting form which is so vital to training, improving, and avoiding injuries. They genuinely want to help you improve. I have really enjoyed the environment, community, and the facilities.
