Fantastic experience front to back. Menu has something for everyone, and a lot of very niche Greek foods, and every dish I've tried is delicious. Flavors are bold and satisfying, and each sauce is a clear individual with its own personality (My favorite is the red tzatziki). Entrees are a great size for their prices, and are sure to satisfy. I've had both dine in and take out, and recommend whichever is more convenient. If you do dine in, the service is some of the friendliest in Santa Fe, and if you take out you can expect a nicely packaged meal and a few kind words on your way out. I would advise having breath mints on hand because the food contains the garlic befitting genuine Greek food. Overall this is a great place and I recommend it to friends and strangers every chance I get.

While on a trip to Santa Fe, we got Yamas for takeout and enjoyed every bite of our meal! To start, we got the Avgolemono Soup and the Titan Fries. The fries were absolutely AMAZING, with just enough spice and loaded with flavor. These are a must try! The soup was mild but very refreshing, with the perfect amount of lemon flavor. For entrees, we had the Gyro Meat Plate with Spanakopita and the Pulled Chicken Plate with Dolmas. Both were seasoned perfectly and were large portions. We wrapped our meal up with a piece of Bougasta, and this alone will have us coming back! If you're looking for a delicious Greek meal, you need to try this place out.

Wed May 17 1:15 pm Yamas is a Greek restaurant with a capital “G.” There are items on the menu we had not seen or tasted before. My big Greek salad with Lamb (absolutely delicious) came with caper berries, something I had not heard of before, let alone tasted. Caper Berries are green and tear drop shaped with a 3 inch stem. (At first I thought it was a big olive.) The taste is briny and they are full of tiny, juicy seeds with a unique mouthfeel. We also ordered the Orzo Salad that came with a traditional Greek Ladolemono Vinaigrette. There are an array of side dishes. We just ordered one, Greek Fries (short and slender topped with feta and parsley) and the hot and zesty Red Tzatziki Sauce (tomato, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic, cilantro, parsley and olive oil) for dipping. Dessert was a shared Revani (semolina cake baked in almond, orange and rosewater, topped with a pistachio crumble.) Our beverage was unique to northern New Mexico, Zia Pinon Cola. Kola nuts are blended and brewed with Pińon Nuts harvested from the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and combined with lime juice, vanilla and cinnamon. It makes for a refreshing taste. There are many, many more traditional and unique dishes on the menu. We will be back and back again. Final tip: Yamas’ exterior belies its menu. It is located right on Cerrillos Road. But once inside the noise is conversation level (68 dB) and the background music is enjoyable. Surprisingly it is Counter Order with no waiting. Service was excellent.

Stopped in for some quick to go food and wow. Everything is excellent here. Hailing from Western NY I have always had a ton of options back East. It had gotten harder to find good Greek/Mediterranean food out West. Yamas is excellent, everything if fresh, homemade and absolutely delicious. I recommend anything because I got such a variety and it was all great.

Im glad i stopped in. The friendly staff, pleasing atmosphere, selection of beverages, knowledge of menu and of course.... the food!!!! My taste buds and stomach are still happy six hours later! I had the Classic Greek gyro with falafel side, a white wine and mineral water. The wine portion was disappointing especially for what was charged. I don't recomend it. I will choose pre-packaged beverages only in the future. I generally don't eat out because it's so often disappointing in every aspect. But this time, I highly recommend Yamas.
