This is theoretically a post office, but they do not deliver your mail regularly and lines are typically 45 minutes to an hour long. Sometimes they randomly stop delivering mail, and I only find out because the sender contacts me. They also do not deliver packages to a mailbox, regardless of size. To me, it looks like they need to hire more people (for both the office and delivery) and stop using contracted delivery drivers.

The clerks are wonderful but this post office uses contractors for many areas it serves. Those contractors are failing to deliver packages (their vehicles are too small, a carrier told me). Customers are forced to pick up packages from the PO. In December, the many people doing so makes lines very long (I had to wait 45 mins . . . and got home to find another delivery pick-up slip). That makes for a lot of wasted time for all customers, and PO clerks doing the work contractors are paid to do.

Five minutes ago, the clerk was mean, he told me they could not check the tracking number with a UAF ID, and I had an old driver license, that is untrue. Esp. after I stood in line at the nearest post office to learn 99709 delivers from there, now it is lost because the line was double, probably why he sent me off to get through a rush.

1. Slowest PO in Fairbanks. 2. They never answer their phone. Never. 3. I requested my mail to be held while away from town for a week. Returned to find that my mail never got held. The staff their seem nice. And are usually friendly. They also seem overworked and tired. As one other review had said, “time for new management”. I agree.

Today I had a lady yell at me, be very rude and call me sketchy. I was simply asking for my mail which was and had been held the last few times I have been in. ( I put my mail on hold about 2 weeks ago with one of the other workers and have since been picking it up because my mailbox is broken and doesn't lock.) So when I came in today and waited for 30 minutes in line to find out they had been delivering my mail back to my mail box which is completely unsecure i was not only confused but upset. I immediately requested that it be put back on hold. I would not write a bad review if there wasn't so many problems and issues with this post office that need to be addressed by higher authority. They desperately need to investigate how this post office is ran and the rudeness of some of its employees. However since I have to give it 1 star I will say there is a really nice worker there who always is kind and has a very helpful attitude. On the other hand there has been extremely unnecessary rudeness to many people that I have witnessed by some of the other employees especially one in particular. I cannot say what people are going through or how hard it must be to work at this post office, all I do know is that the unprofessional attitudes and talking rude about someone out loud as you walk back to check again on their mail is a complete disgrace to the USPS and its image.
