The Learning Key Academy

I’m new to the area and decided to stop by The Learning Key Academy while passing by. The 1st thing that I liked was that they invited me in to tour the facility without having to schedule an appointment. The facility was very neat & organized. The staff was very professional & nice. Once I decided to enroll my son, the enrollment process was very smooth. My son loves it!!! I do too!!! The only downside is that they are closed for all holidays, even the ones that the public schools aren’t closed for (Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day etc). Mrs Vaughn is very nice & professional as well. (We love her!!) The atmosphere is very welcoming. When I drop my son off in the mornings, I know that he will be well taken care of in my absence.

Today I attended the grand opening of The Learning Key Academy under new ownership of Ms. Shaccase Vaughn. The event was so well organized and overall beautifully done. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. Everyone was very friendly. The learning center itself is neat and spacious. I have children in elementary school, but I'll be looking into the aftercare options. As an aside, I know Ms. Vaughn to be a very kind person and a consummate professional so I have confidence that the childcare center will have the same wonderful characteristics.

I am happy to have witnessed the Grand Opening, even though I was only there briefly. The staff seemed welcoming, the facility was clean, and the children were having a blast. I don’t have school aged kids that will be attending but I will tell friends and family about is learning center. I was so pleased that I am interested in volunteering or doing some community service in support of this school. Here’s to a success first year in business to the owner and staff.

Since I moved here 5 years ago this particular daycare has had many different names and different owners. I should have took heed. Just in 1 week, office staffing have changed and they just opened a few weeks ago. Needless to say, I lost $100. Before and after care $95 a week and an additional $90 a week to transport your child to school. $185 a week total for a kindergartener. Was not informed about the additional $90 till after my registration fee was paid and set up by a office staff member who no longer works at the facility. All I got from Ms. Johnson was an I'm sorry for the confusion. The owner Ms. Von, never even cared to speak with me. BEWARE!!!

Waiting on my check from this place, it’s going on 3 weeks! Called & Emailed them, no answer !
