Tamed Blow Dry & Beauty Bar

I never leave bad reviews but had to here. Made an appointment, confirmed, filled out the waiver, and when I arrived nobody was available to do my hair. The stylist was unfriendly and instead of welcoming me, said “she was trying to get me out of there as soon as possible”. Went to get a coffee while she texted people off to the side, and there was no water in the Keurig. Then she said she could do my hair if it was washed. It was very bizarre and I just left without getting my hair done and was disappointed on my bday. The manager called me and said she could give me a 15% discount…no thanks lol. Do not recommend!

Made an appt for 8 am to get my hair done the morning of my engagement photos. I called week of to confirm AND confirmed via email. When I showed up for my appt it was empty inside. A girl emerged from the back at 8 am and said she needed to set some things up. Turns out she was there for a different client and she questioned me whether I even had an appt. When I showed her my email confirmation and told her who it was with she said she had never even heard of the person. I talked to the manager on the phone who said the stylist’s Uber was late and she could maybe be there by 8:30am. We live in Chicago where you can get get an Uber within minutes at basically any hour of the day, so I don’t accept that excuse. I didn’t have time to waste considering I had pictures scheduled at 10:30 am and now needed to run back home and wash, dry, and curl my hair myself. I am so disappointed I trusted this salon for an important event and do not recommend anybody else does either.

Great experiences two times with two different stylists. After easy online reservations, I did a dry style twice and my daughter did a blowout. The stylists were very efficient getting us out, but also didn’t rush us at all. I was able to get work done on one of my visits connecting to their WiFi. I also felt the rates were super reasonable. Owner was there on my first visit. She clearly takes a lot of pride in her salon which is nicely done and clean. Her staff was delightful and talented. She even has a hand drawn book of the style options that she did.

Tamed is great! They had a team doing complimentary blowouts at an event at the Kendra Scott store on Michigan Ave. They were the life of the party! The stylists were so kind, helpful, and bubbly. My hair looked great and lasted days. 10/10 recommend

It's not just a fabulous place for blow outs. I am here every time I come to Chicago and this time, added a root touch up to the appointment. I was really pleased with the time they took to color match and the stylists were so much fun to chat with too.
