This is the email I sent to the owner Donna about Jamie since she prefers to correspond via email. It didn’t take the company 7-10 business days to get my application fees but it’s like pulling teeth to get it back. See below.
I’m actually not going to draw this out longer than it needs to be at this point. Jamie accepted my application and application fee after he knowingly had an approved applicant for the property. He sent me an application at 2:21pm and I promptly emailed back asking who do I make the money order out too, no response. I texted him the same day at 7:12pm I viewed the property letting him know I was dropping off the application fee and money order. (October 27,2020) no response again. I still continued to put in my 60 day notice to vacate my apartment as the anticipation is to reside at this new property me and my husband applied for.
The following day I called Jamie that morning to ask what was that application process and turn around time, no answer left him a voicemail. That afternoon I called back and he answered to tell he had an approved application the day before, and did not think to tell me but that he would hold my paperwork and check. I did not pay my check I paid by money order that was made out to your place of business. He advised he would have to deposit the money order and cut me a check, ok no problem. My husband later called and stopped by to pick up the envelope with the application in it and the check, of course Jamie did not answer for my husband. I called Jamie back twice within 30 mins and he answered saying he was not in the office , and did not know when anyone would be in the office. Jamie advised he would have the check available to me by the end of next week, November 6, 2020. I called Jamie twice November 4, 2020 and left vm, call the office number to be forwarded to you, Donna, same day and you advised you would speak with him. Seeing as I told you about the lack of communication I would have thought professionally you would’ve wanted to follow up to see what the issue was or what needed to be done, I was mistaken. I called Jamie this morning at 10:38am and he advised he didn’t know if he had put the check in the mail or not, which again is unprofessional how do you not know? I asked why was he putting the check in the mail and he responded by saying we never discussed how I was getting the money back to you. As I explained to him the communication is the problem here for me because I didn’t expect to pick up a check why would my husband stop by to pick it up. Jamie apologized and of course said the same thing he has been saying for over a week, he doesn’t know when he is going to be in the office. At this point I requested that I pick the check up this afternoon and he agreed. A little problem with that is now I called him at 3pm no response to my voicemail again at 4:02pm and I then followed up with you Donna, who as a business owner is too busy to listen, call back , or follow up with a concerned person. You asked me to email you so here it is, a full thread in writing about how you guys have failed to communicate and be professional in regards to $100.

Remax had a buyer for my home. We had a contract, a preapproval letter from the lender, and was past the due diligence all we were waiting on was the appraisal and the closing. I was told its a done deal (never a done deal until check in hand). The buyer couldn't get the loan based on several reason's based on incomplete appication, then received another for unverifiable income, then another week later another for insufficient income. This was due to buyer not willing to submit docs needed for loan. Remax/ Donna Walter feels the earnest money should go back to the buyer due to this reason. It states in the contract that the buyer has to do his due diligence in getting the lender the paper work for the loan, and if not its not grounds for cancelling the contract, and getting his earnest money back. This buyer is a personal friend of Donna's and I was told he has been looking at houses way more expensive than mine, and was told oh he's a surgeon, and also running for state senate. The sun rose, and set by the buyer. My home was taken off the market for 2 months, and I spent several hundreds of dollars getting it ready due to their expectations. I've now had to hire an attorney just to get or go after my earnest money which after speaking with my agent at Sheridon & Soloman feel the grounds for which the contract were terminated were based on the buyer not full filling his obligations. I would not recommend this ReMax or Donna Walters or take her word.
I have enjoyed working with this company! All three are a pleasure to work with, and Donna has really gone above and beyond in helping me purchase my first home. Thank you!!
