Pure Barre Rockville is not only a fantastic total body workout, but a community of great women who are kind, smart, motivating and interested in fitness and total body well being.
I highly recommend the group, the workout and look forward to every class that I am able to take.
Though I've been living in the area for the last two years, I only started going to Pure Barre's Rockville studio 2 months ago. I'm so glad I did and only wish I had taken a chance to try it out sooner! The first time I took a barre class maybe 10 years ago (with a different Barre company), I felt out of place and therefore wasn't really chomping at the bit to try Barre as an exercise again. I've had a totally different experience at Pure Barre though. Whatt a truly amazing, challenging, supportive, and fun environment they have built! If you're looking for community, this is the place.
Pure Barre Rockville is an amazing studio! I was never one to get excited about exercising until I found my groove at Pure Barre. The atmosphere is so comfortable and the instructors are well-trained and supportive of all levels of ability. I have seen such great results in my strength and endurance. I love that there are several types of barre classes available each day and even within the same style, no two classes are the same - keeping the exercise fresh and challenging.
Definitely wouldn't say the workouts are for real beginners or people with past injuries. You have to be fit coming in. So be new to barre but not new to being fit and limber. The atmosphere is ok. Not diverse. The staff is friendly enough, not rude but not overly welcoming. The instructors are pretty nice during class. Classes are fast paced and if your dealing with joint issues or unable to move quickly from one position to another you will fall behind. The class participants give the place a general stush, unfriendly air. Minimal eye contact, an awareness others are there but acting as if there is no one else in the room. It was weird. I left confused as to how that environment could possibly count as "community". In the end it was the environment and atmosphere that led me to not sign up for a membership. I knew with practice I would get better at the classes. But I can't do a workout that difficult with unfriendly people. That felt like punishment.
I have tried many workout classes and Pure Barre is a great all around workout. They have an amazing introduction package, that everyone should take advantage of. The class sizes are small which allows the instructors to pay attention to individual needs and give personal instruction. They are very warm and welcome to beginners and new members. I would highly recommend Pure Barre Rockville to anyone looking for a great workout.
