Mountainside Fitness Carefree

This is a great gym with no drama. The personal training here is excellent. In particular, Zack is an amazing personal trainer who has helped me achieve my fitness goals. He is very knowledgeable about bodybuilding, weight loss, and nutrition. He is also very flexible and accommodating with his schedule, which is great for people with busy lives. Zack is very motivating and always pushes me to be better, while also making the workouts fun and challenging. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a personal trainer who can help them achieve their fitness goals. 🏋️‍♂️💪

I honestly enjoyed this gym while going to it. It has decent equipment, was never overly crowded, and was relatively well maintained. The problem I have is with the contractual obligation. They advertise it as a month to month membership with no long term commitment. I signed my son and I up on a family plan. We went a few times / week for nearly three years. Unfortunately my job forced me to move away from the area. I went into the gym, and told them I was moving, this gas to cancel my membership. The next month, my card was charged again, even though we had never visited the gym. I live quite far from this gym, so I decided to call them. I was told my cancellation may have been too late to avoid the charge. Okay fine, but the following month, they charged me again! This time I simply cancelled my card, and got a new card from my bank. This stopped the charges. All was good, until I received a collection notice for $300 from this gym! I couldn't believe it. I again called them. This time I was told the matter was turned over to a third party collection agency, and was out of their hands. Horrible. So yeah, the gym is great while you're using it. However if / when you decide to cancel, good luck!

Mountainside Carefree is a great gym. I come here five times a week. It is extremely community oriented and the management staff is the best it’s ever been. They always help their members by continuously, adding equipment and expanding where available.

Not the cleanest gym! I often get on dirty equipment. Also, they could use to update their treadmills. The majority of them are very small with little to no cushioning and look like they’ve seen their day. Giving 3 ⭐️ because the staff is great and child care is good.

I joined Mountainside Fitness Carefree a few weeks back and I am very glad I did. The facilities are clean, well thought out, and you have a very large selection of machines and workout areas to choose from. The lockers are generous and you have everything you need there to achieve a post workout refresh. They also have a smoothie bar that has great options for reasonable prices, which I appreciate. All of the staff I have encountered so far have been friendly, knowledgeable, and genuine in how they welcome you. Neil, Barb, and Sarah have all been great instructors! One thing I can highly recommend is paying the extra $10 a month to access the massage chairs. It's worth every penny. If you have been on the fence as to joining Mountainside, don't be like me and wait years to give it a try. My friends who referred me have gotten some great "I told you so's" out of it!
