Maralba is without a doubt one of the best 2 star Michelin restaurants in Spain. The food is delicious, well prepared with beautiful presentations. The wine pairing is very good, mostly with wines from Castilla La Mancha. They offer three different menus. But what is outstanding is that Maralba remains one of the cheapest MIchelin star restaurants in the world. Its chef and owner Fran Martinez has continued to offer an affordable "short" menu "Esencia" for the same price (as of May 2023, 65 Euros). In our opinion this menu offers more food than many other menus in other Michelin restaurants. If you are in the Alicante or Valencia region, it is worth stopping by Maralba. It is an experience worth living. After eating you can always visit the beautiful Almansa Castle. A perfect day in Castilla La Mancha!
Two well deserved Michelin stars and three ‘soles Repsol’ (highest rate in this relevant national scale) holds this magnificent restaurant running in the small town of Almansa in Albacete.
Perhaps the most affordable 2 stars in Europe and with a cuisine with strong local roots, Maralba is, definitely, a place to visit. A perfect stop in our way from Madrid to the Mediterranean coast.
Three different tasting menus with a great optional wine pairing by the also awarded sommelier Cristina Díaz.
Contemporary variations of local cuisine. Precise and innovative, some plates were a bit more about technics than taste. Nice wine pairings mostly with Spanish wines. Friendly service. Definetly worth to visit.
