Kau High & Pahala Elementary School

When the school is open, the general public can use the pool, showers, library, etc. In the morning of May 4th, just as I was about to take a shower attached to the beach after finishing swimming at Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, due to a large earthquake on the east side of the volcano, I was worried about a tsunami. An order was issued to evict the beach. Having stayed in Pahala the day before and researched the town, I immediately remembered this place and decided to return. The pool is small but clean. The shower has plenty of hot water and is comfortable. The town of Pahala is located in a high place, so it was really helpful in terms of evacuation.
