Nice local place to eat while in Anchorage. The service was great and the food was good. Nothing jumped out like “wow, this is so good” but glad we stopped in and will go back for sure.
I enjoyed the rustic atmosphere. I have heard so much about the crab omelet and couldn't wait to try it, but I was disappointed. The size was amazing, but it tasted like they used substitute eggs and imitation crab meat. The home fries were too soft.
The sourdough bread is AMAZING!
Greeted immediately, friendly atmosphere, great pancakes and bacon! Inquired about work opportunities and the young man who escorted me to my table brought me an application and pen within minutes. My waitress was friendly and provided perfect service.
I love pancakes and bacon and I was very happy to have order breakfast. I recently relocated from Washington and had lived in Anchorage three years ago, I have only had positive experiences here.
Selena was a perfect waitress/ host helping us decide what to order and the size of the meals. Gravy and biscuits were delicious ( you can share 1/2 order ). The chicken fried steak was so big we ate it for days. Please try the reindeer sausage, loved it and great for later. Had reindeer sausage with cheese and crackers and on my salad. Fantastic food that make’s great leftovers. Love the rock works and wood work throughout the restaurant. Will definitely be back. They serve breakfast, lunch or dinner menu all through the day.
This restaurant lives up to every great review ever written about it!
An historic building(that was once a brothel!) Retains it's massive stone walls in the dining area as well as a waterfall complete with a stuffed beaver and full size brown bear!
The cozy bar's walls are lined with actual newspapers with pics from the tragic 1964 earthquake. Deep red riveted leather chairs and booths add to the old time atmosphere.
The food.....plentiful, delicious with a great selection of breakfast and lunch which are served all day.
Every employee I encountered was genuinely kind and helpful!!!
Do not miss this experience, it was one of the best meals of my stay in Anchorage!!!
