Overall, the communication was very poor. However, the technician did a great job and the windshield patch looks great.
I called and requested a repair for a large chip in our windshield. The customer service representative stated that they could come as soon as the next day. I told her the next day would only work if it was before 2:00pm. She said that would be no problem, and a technician would call me the next day and let me know when they would be coming. Well… it gets to be 1:30pm, and I’ve heard nothing so I call them again. The gentlemen I spoke to was very sorry, and said he would look into the issue and someone would be calling me back right away.
Now it’s 2:20pm and I’m about to leave my house for another appointment, and again I’ve heard nothing from them. Then I get a phone call from the technician that he is in my driveway. (We have a sign on our front door asking people not to knock or ring the door bell because of our dogs, and I really appreciated that he saw the sign and chose to call.)
So now at this point:
- they did not call me to say when they would be coming
-ignored my requested timeline
-not call me back like they said they would
-and showed up without notice.
The only reason I am giving three stars and not one is because of the technician - I believe his name was James. He was polite, professional, apologetic, and seemed nothing was communicated properly to him either and these issues were not his fault. He did the patch very quickly so I could still head out to my other appointment, and did a great job.
Scheduled an appointment. Received confirmation. Arrived for my appointment (after rearrange my schedule) to find out my windshield was not in stock and I would need to reschedule. I asked if their technician could come to my job and pick up and drop of my car as I work close by, they could not accommodate that either. I will take my business elsewhere and would recommend you do the same. Communication is poor. Waste of time.
Glass America replaced my windshield on September 4th, 2019, but did not used the recommended procedure to remove the windshield/roof pillar moulding and broke my car. The technician was in a hurry or didn't bother to look up the recommended procedure; instead pulled the moulding off the car with brute strength. He broke the tabs that hold the moulding on the vehicle. After the incident, I submitted a claim with Glass America and three (3) months later they still have not resolved the issue. The only resolution they have offered to date is to glue the moulding back on the car which is not approved by me or the manufacturer because of the risk of flying off while at highway speed. In the mean time, I have not been able to leave my car outside in the rain because without the moulding installed properly, the rain water leaks into the interior.
Unbelievable... they ordered the wrong glass twice, failed to even show up once, and took over 6 weeks to replace my windshield. At one point I was trying to reach them and they literally picked up the phone and hung it up. I couldn't believe it, so I tried a couple times and yep. That is what they were doing you. Mind you I never so much as complained during this whole experience. After they dodged my call, the next day a tech just showed up as though I had been scheduled. Someone clearly just dropped the ball and didn't want to deal with it.
I tried to use this company/business to get a window fixed on my vehicle. Not only was I lied to apart my part, I was also lied to about the person at the mechanic shop that was supposed to be there to fix it.
According to them, they use the same company to transport parts to the different shops and that the drivers all have more or less the same route. So if someone could please answer me this question; how is it that you have the same driver, same truck, same route have EVERY PIECE of glass break on not 1 occasion, but on 5 trips in the same month? And how is it that that driver still works and has his license?
Myself, and my husband were also told that a man by the name of Tony was the one that was in charge of my window, since he was not only the supervisor, but he was the man that works on windows. Well when we both called and asked for him, not only did he NOT WORK THERE, the shop has NEVER heard of him. Come to find out he was dating someone that works in that office, and apparently they broke up or were arguing and they wanted to get back at him by trying to blame for not only ALL the glass being broken on every order, but by falsifying his employment.
When I did call back and tell them my questions and concerns, not only was I hung up on, but my number was blocked and so was my husband's. Now even if we call from our work's phone number once we say who we are or mention what vehicle we are talking about we get hung up on and when we call back we get a message that the number is no longer in service.
I know this because I called just before posting this and when I mentioned my name and vehicle the line got disconnected somehow and when I called back the number a few minutes later I got that same disconnect message.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, unless you don't mind being lied to and having your insurance company lied to also.
