Foss Swim School - Woodbury

They do a great job! Definitely better than community ed. swimming lessons. My only complaint is if you miss a class it can’t be made up or added to the end. We missed half our sessions due to Covid/other illness so it makes it even more expensive if you think about it that way. Goldfish and Lifetime let you make that lesson up. Foss lets you come to open swim on Saturday, but it’s at 2:15 and that’s naptime for my toddler.

Liv has been the best teacher! She has helped not only my daughter be comfortable in water but the two girls in her class too. Everyone has been very friendly when we walk in and it’s nice and clean. We love it here!

Our boys love Foss. They started when they were 3 and all of the teachers are so wonderful. Our son Leo loves his teachers Teacher Issabel and Teacher Aaron. They are both kind, fun, high energy and supportive. We have seen tremendous growth in this class. Our son Henry also loves his teacher Janet and teacher Aaron E. The both push and support the swimmers in middle 4 by modeling and they are very engaged during the lesson with the swimmers. We also love the kind greeting from Erika who remembers Leo from his first lesson and all the help with scheduling from Nicole. Thank you so much to Foss!

Don't waste your money-- this is on par with YMCA swim lessons, at 10X the cost. Our 2yo is halfway through a 6-week program and so far it's just singing songs, jumping into/climbing out of the pool, learning to paddle, and getting ears wet/dunking head under water (all of this we also did during our two previous Y infant swim courses). The pool area is divided into 10 (maybe more?) sections using floating ropes, with dozens of kids, adults, and instructors in it, plus spectators sitting on the bench around the perimeter of the room. It's chaotic and loud and not at all what we expected for the price. Don't recommend.

There was a policy change and they no longer offer a make up lesson if you miss and this was not communicated at registration. I left messages asking about a make up and there was no call back. I inquired at our lesson to find out they will offer you an hour of open swim on a Saturday, which is not equivalent. I wish they would have communicated this at the time I registered. We pay the expensive lesson fee over community swim lessons so if a class is missed we are not out the money.
