Casitas El Salitral By Rotamundos

Came to stay here for 12 days since it is close to Cerritos and better value for money than other places. Communication was not easy before I arrived, but when I arrived the husband and wife owners were very helpful, although they were still dealing with termites they found in the roof of my room. The place itself is remote - quite close to the main dual carriageway and away from other places and the beach - so a car is needed; but the garden is an oasis with lovely plants and lots of birds plus there is a nice pool and sun loungers. They also have quite a number of dogs that seem to be around all the time and barking at times. The room is very well presented and clean, but a window didn’t shut properly. There are two kitchens available. The bed is comfortable and the shower/toilet work well. I needed earplugs to sleep due to the road noise and dogs barking into the night, plus I was woken up in the morning at dawn by the barking. In fact I was happy for the noisy fridge in the room as it helped me sleep… The WiFi signal was not good and only really operated near the kitchen, but since there were few other guests, I was offered to have the router in my room which helped a lot. The cleaning service was very good and the staff very helpful. I was made to feel at home and the only downside is the noise factor (dogs and road traffic), otherwise it would have been 5* for value for money. Recommend

This is probably one of, if not the most charming place I have ever stayed at! They are separate Casitas of various sizes. Rustic, yet charming and clean! Beside a bed, we had a bathroom with a shower in it. The grounds have two shared adorable, fully supplied kitchen huts! Beautifully landscaped grounds! The Casita we stayed in had a couple stairs going into our Casita and a wheel chair ramp. I would have given the place five stars, but what could be a beautiful swimming pool was very dirty. Oh, and the wi-fi was quite weak. This being said, I hope to return!

Horrible! No AIRCON, it’s too hot to sleep Insects in the room Poor Wi-Fi But over all, the place is on one side of the highway and if you need to go south or you are coming from north they say you have to cross the highway with your car! Against law and extremely dangerous Wrong choice! We had to run away

Spent a week here, loved every minute of it! The Casitas are comfortable, well laid out and beautiful. The pool was refreshing to chill beside and the staff were lovely. Would stay here again for sure

Awesome little casitas. Got a room on sale for black Friday and was 100% worth the money. Nice minumal rooms with clean beds,bathroom and hammock area. Was secure and featured Pool area and many cute dogs and cats that we loved to pet.
