I have naturally curly hair and the hairdresser started ripping my curls dry with a brush not meant for curly hair, then washes my hair and doesn’t use conditioner. By this time it’s obvious I’m uncomfortable and I request to just pay and leave because this hairdresser obviously does not have experience with curly hair. She evens mentions that it seems I’m uncomfortable and I said yes, I really would have preferred you not rip my curls out. From there she gets super rude to the point I just need to walk out with wet hair. Horrible business model and horrible treatment of clients. No wonder she didn’t have any other clients for the day. I think her name was Lisa Kaz but I’m not sure, at any rate this “stylist” should not be touching anyone who has naturally curly hair and at the very least identify when she’s making clients uncomfortable.
This place is one of Portland’s best kept secrets. Lisa has been taking care of my locks for over 6 years and I’ve loved every minute of it. My hair has been blonde, pink, blue, purple, back to brunette. Long, short, bangs, layers. She can literally do it all. Not only does she and the rest of the staff leave your hair looking beautiful, they leave it healthy too. And they give you all the tools and information you need to keep up and manage your hair at home. Whether you need a quick blow out before happy hour or styling for a wedding, Blow & Go is where you need to go.
Isabelle is such a sweet person to talk to while getting your hair done. I've gone to her twice and she also has the best recommendations to do what's best for your hair. She is so kind to ask what your preferences are. Overall, I would recommend going to her to getting your hair done!
Loved my blowout! I have textured, curly hair and typically see curl specialists for my cuts. Went on a limb with a new practitioner and she did not disappoint. Thank you Isabelle for the care, helpful tips and kindness at 7am!
Let me regale you with my exquisite experience at this enchanting hair haven in Portland, Oregon! Five stars, naturally. As I sauntered into the salon, I felt an otherworldly aura, a whisper of coiffed secrets in the air, and an undeniable pull toward the mystifying vintage mirror. I came for a blowout, you see, that promised transcendental enlightenment via follicular stimulation. Rumor has it, the salon building conceals a portal to a dimension inhabited solely by sentient bobby pins, and outside, I spied a flock of flamingos playing chess with garden gnomes while debating the merits of mousse vs. gel. Utterly surreal, my dear! A hidden gem for those who appreciate follicular alchemy and the eccentricity of this charming Rose City.
