Black Spruce Dog Sledding

We had an amazing time at Jeff & Katie’s home! We took a tour with Miguel and his dog team, who travelled to Fairbanks all the way from Argentina. It was so great hearing about his journey and seeing the love he had for his dogs. We’re so grateful that the Deeters have opened their private residence to the public to offer this wonderful service! Additional gratitude for the patience and kindness everyone showed when we played a short game of hide&seek with my drone. I would definitely recommend this place and would happily book again!

My family spent a morning with Black Spruce and couldn’t be happier. Lindsay and Jesse were our tour guides and they were fantastic! They were knowledgeable and could answer any and every question we sent their way. It was clear they care deeply not only for the sport, but also for the dogs. They had unwavering patience with all dogs at all times. They were incredibly kind and compassionate towards us as well. If one of us fell off the tag sled they never laughed, they were instead very encouraging and made it over the top fun for us. We tried to make another reservation but they didn’t have anymore availability for the duration of our trip. I highly recommend Black Spruce Dog Sledding for an unforgettable experience dog sledding.

Highly recommended! My wife and I along with our two traveling companions booked with Black Spruce and thoroughly enjoyed our day with Jeff and Katie and their sled dogs. We enjoyed the interaction with the dogs and learned a great deal about sled dog racing and their experiences in the Iditarod. As snow had not fallen we did the summer sled experience. Would have enjoyed a slightly longer experience but it was excellent and would definitely return for a winter experience!

We did the dog team hike. Really great experience if you like hikes and pups. Jeff and Katie are amazing and salt of the earth people. Their pups are all really well trained , behaved, and taken care of. Highly encourage the experience to really enjoy the views with some great company.

Fantastic experience! I was looking for a close and personal experience and Black Spruce is on point for just that. We learned a lot about the whole Iditarod experience from Katie and Jeff. We felt like kids playing and listening to the dogs. A highlight of our trip for sure.
